The old men stand proud Before the scattered crowd, The battered warriors Of half-forgotten wars. With trembling hands They salute the flag, And recall their youth Lost on foreign shores. A marching band plays and speeches are made On this solemn day of remembrance. Some reflect on the victories But most remember the losses And grieve for those who lie Beneath the miles of white crosses.

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
Adorned in his mystical robes Of shimmering moon and stars, Drawn from the vault of heaven By the power of Merlin, himself When other worlds were only seven. He emerges from the crystal cave, From the old world into the new. He holds aloft the sacred chalice, Before him lies the shinning palace .....Of Camelot. He smiles on his remembering Then salutes the once and future king.

THE WIZARD
Regal pines soared skyward Like a great cathedral's spires, Shafts of iridescent light Struck the ground with holy fire, Illuminating the forest floor Where lacy ferns and mosses grew. With brilliant greens of every hue. Transforming violets into purple jewels, Strewn about my feet And water into liquid gold When light danced on the creek. Alone in this most sacred realm , I knew That what I had always felt was true A truth my heart has come to understand... God does not dwell in temples made by man.
