A desperate, silent scream Makes restless, waking sleep A night scarred by a dream That my open brain did reap. You were there and everywhere The flowers were to bloom On the breeze and through air Shedding sweet perfume. But then the sun, it went away And I saw what must be true The clouds rolled in to my dismay I saw you’d left me too.

A Dream
“For who can bear the whips and scorns of time? The pangs of despised love?” For sins the soul lays pray To the vultures hovering above. The body’s insides left to melt In the sun’s tenacious heat. While the heart aches from pain dealt And barely keeps a beat.

For Sins
Play with words And you’ll be tricked. Write them down And they will run. Speak them And they will slip. Admire them And they will sing.

Playing With Words
Never a word I’ve feared more. Never needed a label for adore. Never a word I’ve desired for. Never needed a word to make my heart sore. This four letter word that strikes fear. A four letter word that I desire to hear. This four letter word that can burn and sear. A four letter word that’s always held dear. What a four letter word can do to the soul. What it can do to a heart of solid coal. What a four letter that people extoll. What is this L-O-V-E that we try to control?

Four Letter Word
Love struck right through my chest. And there it planted a seed. No matter how much I protest, It crept up and grew like a **** It walked up when my back was turned. How very unkind how very impolite, It leads me only to get spurned. And brings with it lonely a night. Oh why did love do such a thing? It likes to pick on me, love does. Did it have to pluck each heart string? But for the best it truly was. For if love had decided not to creep at all, I might have decidedly turned away, I might never’ve taken down my wall. Sneaky love has given me a chance today.

Sneaky Love
Why not give me your heart in exchange for mine? Then, by next month, I’ll be your Valentine. It’s just like something from a book, Where I melt with just one look. Why should I see the rain fall and not feel it? My heart is unguarded so please just steal it. There’s really no need for a key. Why not just ask? I’ll give my heart willingly. My heart skips a boom at that feeling, And makes my dreams look super appealing. Unbearable thoughts rage like an infection, And I’m waiting for the antidote connection. If I don’t want to risk the chance of rain, How am I going to get a rainbow? So let’s go for walk and you will see, That where you really belong is with me.

Valentine
If the whole world rains It’s gonna kick you when you’re down. How do you stick to it through the pain, When the ***** so high you’re gonna drown? There must be something wrong When these thoughts tend to circulate. And every second the list grows long, It gets harder for me to concentrate And you still wipe away my tears, *** you know it’s really the world I hate. Your touch leaves no room for fears, And then you carry some of my weight When you’re that trapped, you can’t run. Buried underneath it gets easy to hide. I never take help from no one. When someone asks, I find I lied. I promise I’ll try to get better, But how could I really guarantee? Way ahead, I see bad weather. I’ll have to remember you are with me. So would you please stay, To wipe my tears away? Because you know it makes the world So much harder to hate.

World I Hate
I picked a poison apple, and knowingly took a bite, Only to find it made me wise. Kind of a twisted Cinderella- or was it Sleeping Beauty? What was the story again? I can’t quite remember- whatever. The point is, I don’t need saving. That tasty morsel gave me a choice To be with or without Eden. The choice was to leave my fins For the freedom of feet on land.

Outside Of Eden
As I go about my day I think about the way I stumble and studder And my heart starts to flutter Whenever he comes near I forget about my fear that he should ever go away.

Allay My Fear
The hollow wings of birds that carry through the air Gliding cross skies that glow golden at dusk The falling light in its final hours caresses the branches Of trees in a distant grove where a scent Lifts to the cloud-filled heavens With faint aromas sweet.
