a rose
its beautiful just like love
gorgeous from a distance, but be careful when you reach for it because it has thorns
that can hurt you, just like love
it is the ideal representation of love as it shows us that as beautiful as it is, it can sting

the key to living at ease is to know as less as you can possibly know
ignorance is bliss, do not go out of your way to find out what you aren’t meant to know
do not check your lover’s social media looking for certain comments
do not check if he is online as you wait for a text
ignorance is bliss
whatever you dig for, you usually misunderstand because its taken out of context
the more you know, the more you hurt
but only if i followed my own advice

looking into his eyes liberated me from my worries, making me feel so light
lying in his arms liberated me from my fears, making me feel so safe
i thought of him before i slept, when i first woke up and, well only throughout my entire day
i lost myself in him
my world revolved around him
at one point, i thought, wow he is my universe, he’s the sun, the moons, all the planets and stars
but then when he left i realized
he was nothing but i made him all that
so i relocated all the time and energy spent on him onto myself
and thats when i reached the happiest point of my life

the perfect phase
where it’s all fun and games because i don’t really know you but the thought of you is exciting
i find you intriguing but it won’t be long till i start losing interest in you
i find you charming
but its still only fun and games because small talk is the furthest interaction i’ve had with you
i like the idea of you because i don’t know you well enough just yet
see its all fun and games till we learn more about one other
cause all of us are admirable till we get to know each other as our flaws start to appear and then it all deteriorates and we move on past the perfect phase
its always an incredible stage but it can never be an everlasting period of time, only a series of fleeting moments
