As I walk along this wooded path, The leaves fall from the trees. They gently float down to the ground, Some blowing in the breeze. I stand there for awhile, I dare not make a sound. The songbirds play the soundtrack, Pure beauty all around. I sit a moment to take it in, Then continue on my way. Tis still a long way to my home, And the sky is turning grey. The trees take on an eerie shape, Their bare branches in the dark. Silhouetted by the strike of lightning, As it flashed across the bark. Out of the forest, I finally escaped, To a house I had never seen. Inside was a man I could see through the window, He appeared to be bitter and mean. I decided to risk it because I needed shelter, So I went up and knocked on the door. But with all my rap-a-tap-taps, I got no answer back, only a single word, "Lenore?" As I attempt to comprehend what's going on, I awaken from my dream. I'm sitting on the wooded path, As I listen to the songbirds sing.

Along the Wooded Path
She looks out the window, Tears wellin' in her eyes. She remembers the good times, But now how many times he's made her cry. If he could only imagine, How much she hurts, deep down inside, Then maybe he could remember, Of how his love once burned bright. But He Lies... He says he's going out for a drink, He needs to clear his head to think, But then he meets Her, Again... Been six long years since their wedding night, But it's been at least two, Since he last held her tight, And she cries... ...Herself to sleep late at night In the pale moonlight, she gently weeps, "I want to die", And so she tries... ...To wrap her brain around something else, because she knows that he will be back, It has all become so routine. And then the telephone rings... "We need you to come down, Identify this body. He was going ninety, When he smashed into the tree." She could only imagine, as she hung up the phone. She was now truly lonely, Though so many nights she spent alone, And she cried... She wished for someone to hold so tight, To squeeze her close and tell her everything is alright. The man she loved, died so long ago... And She Cried...

She Cried
Hand over hand, You slowly ascend, Afraid of the impact, You would have in the end. Many times had you dreamt, Of this very day. The day that your fears, Would all go away. You have summoned the courage, To climb to the top. But more courage is needed, For the hundred foot drop. You remember so clearly, The snickers and sneers, The way they would tease you, For showing your fears. But today will be different, You will prove them all wrong, And show them how truly, You want to belong. As you stand there triumphant, Perched up on your ledge, you make the mistake, of looking down over the edge. The people below, Looked at you in awe. They watched on in horror, Couldn't believe what they saw. From up on the scaffold, Way up in the sky, The dizziness got you, You fell from ahigh. At first, just a gasp, But then to a scream, Then suddenly you realized, This isn't a dream. You really had done it, It wasn't that bad, You thought to yourself, Then suddenly...Splash!

Overcome
Everyone stared, as you walked through the door. Who is this stranger? The chorus of whispers, seemed to implore. In the back of the room, With her friends by her side, But still alone, sat the wife. Her eyes, ringed in red, From all the tears she had cried. You had seen her before, But you never had talked. Just like a dead man, Making his way down the green mile, So nervous at first, so slowly you walked. Rows upon rows, Of his kith and his kin. They knew not your name, But they knew who you were. The temptress who'd cast their son into sin. Like bullets through skin, You could feel their cold stares. Just one last goodbye, Is that too much to ask, you wonder as you walk up the altar stairs. You kiss his cheek, And in his hands place a rose. You whisper I Love You, As you silently weep, Your tears falling gently, upon his nose. As you stand with your love, His wife walks to your side, "It's not easy, but I forgive you, Because I loved him too," She gives you a hug, and together you cry.

The Mistress
Well I drive the speed limit, When I'm on the blacktop, Because ya ain't gonna know, If yer gettin eyeballed by the cops. When I see the gravel, Comin' up around the bend, I turn the corner, hit the gas, And my tires start to spin. I get my get 'em up stuck, In my pickup truck. The gravel gets my guages, goin' up, up, up. In my pickup truck, Ain't no slowin' me down. I love my pickup truck, Kickin' up dust clouds. If it's rainin', you're complainin', About the mud and the muck, But ya know that I'll be playin, In my pickup truck. I get my get 'em up stuck, In my pickup truck. The mud gets my guages, goin' up, up, up. In my pickup truck, Ain't no slowin' me down. I love my pickup truck, Throwin mud around. When your rollin' around, On the ice and in the snow Sittin' in the ditch, your car don't wanna go. Who's the one ya call, To get ya unstuck, Ring-a-ding-a-ling-a-ling, Ya need my pickup truck. I get my get 'em up stuck, In my pickup truck. The winter gets my guages, goin' up, up, up. In my pickup truck, Ain't no slowin' me down. I love my pickup truck, Haulin' people 'round, Time to move is here, And I back up to your door. Packing out your things, Until my truck can't fit no more. I get my get 'em up stuck, In my pickup truck. Helpin' friends gets my guages, goin' up, up, up. In my pickup truck, Ain't no slowin' me down. I love my pickup truck, Helpin' friends movin' 'cross town I can't get enough, Of my pickup truck. If I had to do without it, then my life would **** Ya know my life would **** Without my pickup truck. I would feel like half a man, Without my pickup truck.

The Storm moves in, It's force yet unknown, The Lightning has not struck, The Winds have not Blown. The Trees are still peaceful, Their Limbs, still intact. The Sky starts to Darken, The Clouds, they turn Black. The Lightning, it Flashes, Afar in the Sky. The Thunder, it Crashes, Like a Train, rolling by. Now the Wind starts Ablowing, And the Trees start to Sway, Harder and Harder, Till the Limbs break Away. Then comes the Rain, Like Needles on Skin. Let's Play in the Rain, 'Til the Sun Shines Again!!

The Storm
I hear the Siren sing her song, As I sail these stormy seas. I've been stranded way to long, Her voice puts me at ease. The seas, they seem so endless There is no land in sight. But the song of my enchantress, Helps get me through the night. I know I must ignore Her call, These seas will be calm soon. But as the waves, they rise and fall, Again, I hear her Tune. Her angelic voice, it beckons me, By now, I'm much too weak. No longer can I fight this Sea, My boat has sprung a leak. Should I stay, aboard this boat, Where I'd surely drown, Or hope that I can stay afloat, and swim towards that lovely sound?

Siren Song
Darkness has fallen, o'er everthing I know, Everone has left me, I sit here alone. Day after day, my heart grows more bitter, My love for the world, has long since been withered. From where has it come, this hate in my heart, The anger that helped tear my family apart? Why do I feel I am trapped in this cage, So quick to defend, so quickly enraged? I'm sorry for the fights, I would start everyday, I never wanted, to hurt you that way. I never realized, I lost all control, Until the day when I found, my hands on your throat. The way that I felt, I cannot explain, I thought it was you, causing my pain. Instead it was me, my demons have won, This hate in my heart, has enveloped the sun. Now as I sit here, in the dark all alone, A coldness takes over, a numbness unknown. How do I get back, to the light I so yearn, Too late is this lesson, through loss it was learned.

Numbness Unknown
Who am I? Nothing more than I was last week, But not the same as the year before. Imperfect Perfectionist, Everything in it's place. Except for me, I do not belong. Sympathetic Schizophrenic, It's not just in your head, They really do look at you, You are the cause of all their pain. This is the End, The Doors said it best, Break on through, They can't hold you back, The people are strange, but you are much stranger, As fact is to fiction, No more remorse, Please put down the knife, I won't cut my throat, Oh, but yes you will. I'm not suicidal, I just hate myself. Put down the knife. It's not funny anymore. If I die so do you, Is that what you want? You live to destroy me, From inside my head, I have been taken hostage, Hijack my brain. My thoughts are not mine, I am a prisoner, inside of my mind.

Sympathetic Schizophrenic
My name is not important, but my face you won't forget. I'll haunt you in your deepest sleep, You'll wake up, dripping sweat. And in the darkness of your room, the shadows I will creep. You see me in the hallways, you cannot get away. On the face of everyone you meet, My image will not stray. My cheap cologne, you said you loved, now don't smell so sweet. Memories of that dreaded night, It started out so good, Your high school crush just asked you out, Of course, you said you would. Tonight's the night that you would know, exactly what I 'm about. I picked you up at eight oclock, for dinner and a show, You wore your bright red dress, your eyes were all aglow. We sat up at the bluff, I felt your warm caress. But when I wanted more and more, you quickly changed your mind. It made me lose my self control, I took what wasn't mine. And left you with my memory, embroidered to your soul.
