There were grass-hoppers once, in these fields of green. Leaf-hoppers too and a myriad other tiny wing'ed ones. Now bees fidget fretfully along the hedgerows. Lady-bugs, now only the twelve-spot greenhouse slaves. Monsanto's beetles badgering them as they fiddle. These ditches that once housed frogs and musk-rat, ferocious diving beetles, The sky absent the wheeling martins, the boisterous larks. Gone the pests, I rue the dearth, bring me back my mud, my earth. Never was I annoyed by them, always an ally that buggy thing, Who yet knows how the June bugs sing?

Greener Still
Love this life like a boy loves a girl Love it all as it rolls up in your face as it splashes your drink all over the place Love this life as it deals up like cards one heart one diamond two clubs and then its hard. Love this life like a girl loves a boy love it all so quiet when you are trying so hard as it fills all the spaces in a well built heart Love this life as it pages out grim one dead one dying two going then the dim. Love this life like a Mam loves a baby love start to finish without question with out cease Love it as it curdles and when it brings you peace Love this life you're living, let me hear you as you sing One Heart, One World, one only real thing.

Love This Life
I am a gesture of hers, she makes me into all I am. Each work, each impulse, all are what she would have me do. I rise, as does the sun, at her bidding when she tires of us we go, I to sleep and him to set to enable her sleep in peace, to satisfy her dreams. I am all she wishes, no less, no more When she no longer needs us we will sleep for evermore.

She
From the cold into the light from the dark into the heat as we each in ebb and flow watch times tide seethe at our feet feel the shifting sands of times beach drift beneath our souls feet. We cannot anchor in this bay, we dock here gently for our live's short stay.

From the Cold into the Light
May your tears be numerous as the streams from the Mountains, May they wash your grief away in one springs passing. May they nourish those beneath you, and around you. For it is only in the certain knowledge of our numbered days that we can find Truth and Joy, May your laughter and singing be as bountiful as the Suns rays, May those tunes bind you and hold you up among those who love you. For it is only in the certain knowledge of our treasured times that we can find Love and Loss, May you walk on soft paths, may the airs be ever scented on your way through these days, For of such things as we are made so we make our worlds way. Let us see the light in the storm clouds and the sweetness in the flood, Let us ever lift each others hearts with gladness at the Days break, As we hold each others souls at the hearts-ache. For our days are few and our hearts are full.

Tears for a Friend
My Harvest, my golden ever-lasting grain, My bird-winged heart who soars above this dull terrain. My Heart, my love, my lasting life's refrain. Oh breath, beat on and overcome this pain. My crop of gold, my one true wish, my meaning as foretold. My true and constant one, whose only hand I hold. My lonely one, my ring'ed one, whose story is not told. Oh heart, bear up and carry me to the fold. My only at my leaving one My dark nights soothing sun My comfort tales by her are spun My daily works, my widowed one Let all the suns rays warm her twice, Let rainfalls wealth melt her winters ice, Let all my mossy paths caress her feet, Until the two of us re-meet.
