My temper has finally caught up with me It has finally made my bed Words that would haunt me endlessly Would it have been better left unsaid? Shooting invisible daggers everywhere As my vocabulary has run dry Reminded of Atlas, who was bestowed with a curse In my perspective, so have I The load has gotten the better of me Unnoticed, my relationship was falling apart Into a robotic companionship The effect of harsh words to heart Do you still love me? Yes. But in ways not linked romantically. The difference between a lover and a friend Then... have you fallen out of love with me? Yes. Now, what?

Fight or Flight?

My temper has finally caught up with me It has finally made my bed Words that would haunt me endlessly Would it have been better left unsaid? The beating of the drum The tidal wave crashing down The rumbling of the earth’s crumb Is felt in every heart beat That thump in your chest The lost mind can wander It envelops you in distress Every detail you ponder That creeping sense called emotion It scares you out of your wits Thinking of what the future holds Throws all your sensibilities into fits The thing that is most fearful Is when anxiety becomes your friend It becomes your daily companion The only who can comprehend.

Attacks

The beating of the drum The tidal wave crashing down The rumbling of the earth’s crumb Is felt in every heart beat That thump in your chest The lost mind can wander It envelops you in distress Every detail you ponder That creeping sense called emotion It scares you out of your wits Thinking of what the future holds Throws all your sensibilities into fits The thing that is most fearful Is when anxiety becomes your friend It becomes your daily companion The only who can comprehend.

Might be fun, might be scary Heart pounding, echoing through body walls That feeling of uncertainty Embracing every fiber of your heart, body, and soul Time has passed and it won't be returning Look around, everything is changing Stopping is not an option; just keep running But pause. Look around, everything is changing. A ring around my finger, my children lying in bed From being a teenager, I am now that parent I once dread Everything is changing. But there is one solid ground. To have you by my side, to ease uncertainty's subtle pound. Pull me down when my heart's soaring in fear Stand your ground when uncertainty is so clear Pray hard when you feel that everything is changing fast. Then pause. Look around. Everything is changing. Fast.
