I think I met another of my soulmates last night
Feel the unbearable lack of me. I once stood, Splendid. Flames lick my edges, Cleaning any trace Of a past, future; Any possibility of memories Housed in my broken walls. The sky Lit with violence. Suffocated. A single crack And I am no longer Fallen to the flames Buckled by their desperate hunger, I am devoured.

A smokey ash smile. With this your apology Drips false from that mouth

Dark coldness cuts my cheeks A disguised mirror, her disturbing emptiness unreal music In her perfect she crashes alone Isolated in her beauty. Terrifying stillness covers her movement A surge of frozen disfigurement confuses her fish, sharks, mermaids Terror invades her beauty: Pain, punishment, promise all pull me under Hiding me. Quiet ripples warn of rain Excited energy invades her calm A storm kills her silence Her depths overflow with lost wrecks: They scream their suffering.

manipulative ‘perfection’ draws me closer draws me closer a drawing sketched onto a clean sheet resting on top of her naked beauty naked, bare perfection ‘perfection’ drowning me me drowning in her eyes blue as the sky sea sea see her watching me actually watching beautifully smiling smiling with her deep blue eyes caressing perfection moulding perfecting affecting perfection affect affect effect etching effects on her beautiful face watching her move with beautiful grace affecting her perfection with affection deception misleading my heart with her stunning emotion dancing in her eyes like a fiery dream her beauty shines amid the world’s blunt rage bluntly: I love her her beauty her smile tricks me into believing she is beauty.

beauty.
There are worse places to be There are better Avenues of everything I’ve ever dreamt of Stretch out before me like a baby’s crumpled arms Rugs pave the broken road Soothing the wavy maze of souks and bazaars Covered in blemishes Riddled with secret treasures Untameable animals scour the pathways Searching for forgotten scraps Shadows live in contrast to the midday sun Hiding fallen beggars Lying twisted on the ground Juxtaposition of beauty and pain unfolds Poised in the blameless blue sky A tower rises over the horizon Desperation pours out of every cracked brick And a prayer floats out to the market It is perfection, of a kind. The streets are not innocent They have seen and heard and felt Every wrong in the world Afternoon heat of the square suffocates me I’m lost in an array of people and materials Drowning in the swirling language Eyes stinging amongst the dusty chaos Rain Eats away the market’s life, Dampening red-hot brick walls. Corrupted skies cry. There are worse places to be There are better

Depression is not a grey mist hanging over everything, it is the absence of the grey mist that 'normal' people are accustomed to. They experience life in a muted way. We, as depressives, get the chance to experience the truth, for that moment, and it is so unbearably painful because it is real. Seeing this reality is being exposed to the truth. We think. Does the truth lie?

Depression
Diamante raindrops fall like ash on a blackened sky; Golden glows from an awake city. My insomnia crosses borders with me

use me
Blood petals; almost entirely gone Dripping from me Gathering around my ankles. A sliver of autumn Shining through my wrist It knows the future better than I will.
