Spent 40 days and 40 nights no cash for bail It was just a fight. Papa used to tell me just to turn and walk away. She was sitting there all alone by her drink or maybe take her home. Papa used to tell me just to turn and walk away. But I didn’t listen. I was on that mission 8 JD‘s lost inhibitions. Papa use to tell me just to turn and walk away. We had a few drinks we spoke for a while. She was mine. I could tell her to smile. Papa used to tell me just to turn and walk away. I grabbed her hand asked her to dance never did this before. It was my big chance. We danced real close the cheek to cheek heard a ruckus around me behind me and turned to take a peek. He was 7 feet tall with a big black beard. He poked me on the shoulder and said I’ll take it from here. Left, right, punch, kick, getting jumped, oh **** Oh **** broke ribs still throwing both fist, don’t miss. Now my medulla has cuntusions, I’m on back, nothing but boots fade to black. Papa used to tell me just to turn and walk away. Spent 40 days and 40 nights No cash for bail It was just a fight Papa used to tell me Just to turn and walk away.

Turn and Walk Away
I wandered the path of contemplation Slowed my thickets long I stood Potent as my desperation I yelled as loud as I could.

Even on a sunny day The sky is grey Closed my eyes As you walked away Now my heart will pay Couldn't find the words to say I'm so lost without you It's the way I feel about you You know it's never real without you Hear my favorite song, I can't sing without you Travel the world, don't see a thing without you Go to parties Have no fun without you Should've realized Your the one I'm so lost without you It's the way I feel about you You know it's never real without you

Lost Without You
His gaze adrift through countless windows Dreaming far beyond his eyes will ever see The birches wept amongst cold shadows Reminiscing of spring and leaves of green By a southernly breeze the moment swept He stood wondering, why do they still weep For that moment swept, was indeed a lifetime Charles Casanova 10/5/14

Moments in Time
By the edge of the moors Occupied by shadows cast Its once closed doors Unhinged by times pass Centered in a golden arch Above the mantle it spies Generations of burning embers And Masquerading lies Benign to the naked eye It's weft masks well It's blood stained warp Yet it holds dear Within every woven thread Lies the tapestry of fear

Tapestry of Fear
Your mind is a maze I can't get out Can't figure out What your all about Every corner I turn Leads to a dead end Or the beginning All over again I beg and plead Please let me out I've seen all I can see You gotta let me out I'm losing track of myself The love is gone There's nothing else

Mind Maze
Footprints I saw footprints in the snow I had to follow where they go Tip toe'd in every step To keep my feet from getting wet Over Hilltops, through valleys And forests of pine I traveled and traveled Snow blind to time When the footsteps ended It was once again spring I traveled the world and hadn't seen a thing Stranded by the shores of vast oceans blue With very little hope and nothing to do Except watch pirates catch mermaids With lassos of gold And dolphins tell stories Of days of old As all seemed lost What did I see That sent a wave of hope Crashing over me I saw footprints in the sand.....

Footprints
As light grows brighter and journeys call Remember the voice that whispered it all Wisdom of words, reason of voice Devoted by true love, never by choice As sun rises, yearning buds bloom Be patient, her caress will groom A soul to stand through winds of strife And bestow to us a better life As sun sets, shadows loom Stay keen for darkness soon Will take by hand, a withered stem and forever place it in a far away land At journeys end, night will fall Only a lingering fragrance to remind us all Wisdom of words, reason of voice Devoted by true love, never by choice

A Mothers Whisper
Cradle the memory of love For one sad day it will pass Like a cold and lonely dove Lying broken on the grass No matter how hard thy plea No matter how gentle thy sway The hands of time Only travel one way Charles Casanova 10/26/13

Memory of Love
When I am dead, my dearest, Sing no sad songs for me Place no flowers where I lay Sit in the shade of the cypress tree And rest your cheek on the grass, that grows above me Shed just one tear Always remember, Never regret I shall not see shadows, I shall not feel pain I shall not hear the nightingale Sing the song of rain Wandering through the twilight The sun does feign Nor does is rise, or set, it just remains Growing further with every step gained Until a single tear drop falls from the sky Flooding the valley with oceans of hope For that one day a springs tide Will make this our last goodbye
