I’m not dumb
I’m more or less irrational, I am quite passionful
I have little self-control and I do not yet know my role
I use slang and swear too much
I think a lot and like to touch
On things that have my interest
Basketball, music, dance
I like to take a glance, at women
But that’s a given
I am persistent, disobedient, and selfish
And yet, I have one wish
That’s to be rich, get girls and wake up
Then do it all over again
But then again it’s just a dream
I struggle with relationships because they never last
Then I listen to Drake and think about the past
But then again he is no God
He kind of puts on a fake façade
Now let’s talk about God
On the surface no one believes in him
But I believe people do deep within
I know God is one person I can rely on
And that he’s no one I can defy upon
So much pressure with my friends
And then he goes and lends, me guidance

Whose voice isn’t loud enough to hear
Drinking and smoking
Are not my priorities
I am a teenager
I am not a runaway or a party animal
Nor a dope head on the street corner
I am a teenager
I am not idiotic or relentless
I’m expected to be an adult. Yet, I get treated like a child
I don’t have flawless skin; pimples are all over my face
I am a teenager
Who’s slowly learning to love my flaws
And not listen to society’s definition of beauty
I am a teenager
Who’s attached to the social media 24/7
They think I don’t know anything, believe me I know more than you think
I am a teenager
Who loves to pray
Always take the time to honour our Lord for everything he has done
for us
I am a teenager
Who is still trying to figure out their future
But in reality, is scared for what’s in store
I am a teenager
Different from the others
But they think we’re all the same

saying, "who really cares"
you look again
you're in so much pain
but why
why are you doing such a thing
your heads saying
don't do it
but you can't help but think
just a bit
your arm is worse than before
you scream the pain

lack of motivation
no inspiration
not even ambition
no place for admiration
nothing but frustration
pure pain and isolation
not enough justification
or a single explanation
I'm just another genetic mutation
with no feelings and emotions
so how do you expect myself
to write a poem of pure perfection?

you know...
I never really thought
that I
would be
part of something
so neat
Knowing that
I have people around me
that love to openly chat
about and relate to
the one and only almighty king
Enjoying every moment we have
accomplishing to
have a better relationship
with each other, with our families, our friends, with Him, even ourselves.
Each and everyday
we learn from our mistakes
We live our lives
reality.
But once we all come together,
we are a brother, a sister
to be ablaze, for Him.
We are not only here to proclaim His word
but we are here for our voices to be heard
We come together
to worship
to pray
to honour
to adore
We are
young people,
being and bringing Christ wherever we are
here to preach the word of the lord
We are a family, proclaiming his name
witnessing, seeing, hearing and knowing
God loves us the way we love Him
together
When we are on that spiritual high
heck, you just feel you're up in that sky
with him, living it up
CFC-Youth has taught me
God's love is so unconditional and only He
Can judge me.
I'm slowly starting to figure myself out
Who I am, where I stand
With his help.
He loves me
And I love Him.
