I saw a gold horde of men They numbered one thousand ten I did ask them why I am meant to die But they never would say when

Plain
I watched your affection turn to ash It bust to flame in your eyes Smoke sliding through your expression Dilated pupils and teary lashes Melding with the rain Water slithered through the cracks Across your granite hands Droplets pooling in the earth It drenched your garments And your shoes Leaving you soggy On your long trek home

Denouement
They called me a queen An empowered woman Dusted with pale powder Cheeks stained with crimson rouge They called me a woman with the ability to make men melt A burning drop of wax Spilling down a candle's side I wish I could be such a creature That inspires passion Amid a barren landscape With little water Nor sun Take me upon yourself Embrace the dirt in my nails Clutch my greasy curls And tell me I am that woman

You look upon the world As a ship with no captain Seeking to guide humanity Through the storms Oh my darling may I  sit against your heart So its vibrations can rock my limbs until the dawn breaks You bemuse me As a man full of life Laden with curiosities Yet unhappy within this world Leave those my darling Allow the stars to fall for you Let them stun you as they strike your skin And inspire passion from the lights in your veins May you never be numb As your travels will bring warmth To the places within you That will never see any light May your soul blaze through So you can feel alive May you never feel secure As I push you off from the shore

Looking at photos Checking the dates Oh how foul things are As everyone shifted away From who they once were We go from genuine, benevolent and truthful To dishonest, ignorant,  cruel Simply misguided Or bewitched Individual to impersonal From laughter with another To listening to a fabrication With a blank look in their eyes Craving the past Pouring  yourself Into their cracks But it all fell through It always fall through

Live Now
A lot of tragedy Loomed over their hearts Enchanting their fears Now they sit in the warmth Drowning in the sunlight Repressing everything they had not forgotten

Ceased
Retaliation against the warmth Led into the wind Fighting against the air My lungs were full of heat I ceased to breathe falling upon earth No more shall I seek the softness of wrinkled sheets Or the thin lines on your hands Just the thawing ground
