adam-long
I am a amateur poet and also writer, for as long as I can remember reading has been my favourite form of escape and I recently ( about a year and a half now ) stumbled across a love for writing poetry, and with that I also found a love for reading it also. In September I start an English literature degree and in the mean time I work part time and spend time writing or with my friends whenever I can, I look forward to reading your works and i hope you like some of mine :)
You smiled today and that's awesome, You smiled today, you feel fine. You smiled today and I love that, That smile of yours, is what has caused mine.

Your smile is contagious
Have you ever felt your body is a cage? And that the world is your prison? That from the rising of your age Your life's value has not once risen? Fighting thought, resisting existing's cage And ascertain your ambitions becomes moral outrage So to keep yourself safe you keep your words from the page And declare yourself nothing, so as to act nothing on the stage If this is true for you, then I pity thee Much as I solipsistically feel pity for me buti mean this not condescendingly I mean it sympathetically, perhaps more empathetically For I too have felt the same, all the time somehow But shift from it, with tenacity, and free yourself now.

untitled sonnet 1
we live in the time space of love and hate no living hting can escape space or times gate nor the expanding legs of love and hates gait myself included both temporal and emotional from neither can i run for theories are non traditional love and hate are feelings created by a mind time and space, really are just feelings, created by a mind and so defying the confines of quantifiable existence is true humanity prevailing at existence i both love and hate love and hate, have no time for space and time time we focused on theories existing only in our minds

just a bit of a splurge
Its kind of bland And my words aren't great But this poem says How much I appreciate The chance to have met Such a brilliant woman. Mind brighter than supernova And a might hot human. Sharp tongue And even sharper wits And not to mention Your magnificent quips. Eyes alluring, And Smile a treat One the Best people I've ever Had the honour to meet.

professional procrastination
I glance up looking for answers But all I see is the sky I look down and see the ground I keep on wondering why I'm here again Struggling the same Trying to find answers Is making me insane But to give up the quest Is the only way to fail Stick with insanity Know one day, I will prevail I will write dreams And see them come true I will earn my right To be in the deep blue Not the sea I mean the sky The ocean keeps me a float But me, I wan to fly I promise I will Not you. I promise me For all my struggles Success is the only thing I see Laid out ahead Are nothing but clouds Some are grey Some, fluffy white shrouds Ill go through them all Until there's none left Until I do that I will never rest

Motivating Myself (written in first person, but if your struggling, apply this to yourself)
Type, Delete. Type, Repeat. Thousands of words; All with meaning Lose their worth Due to easy deleting. A joke and a smile Are ephemeral things, Also eaiser than admitting We are living, feeling, human beings. Hiding affection Displaying only direction Forward thinking No time for honest correction. Fear and pride Are one and the same, Both are damaging Make you act insane, Cause you to display only lies Showing how messed up inside The person you are, is. The taste of bitter love You fight to resist. So next time you write The next time you feel Make sure to share Only what's real, Or risk losing the truth Over the fake That is not a chance Anyone should take.

Don't Delete Your Chances
I love the term 'wildfire' open for interpretation. like fire has a desire, or will for manipulation. fire is a FORCE not a wild beast you can not coerce it will only feast and when the food depletes its power and life too until ignition repeats causing need for fiery food this is hard to grasp as man desires, no, requires control for us to last for something to be uncontrolled leaves the possibility of tales to be told of human death and misery its laughable to think the lighting at out tips takes time to think of where in life it sits we don't control forces we work around them. we control being like dogs and horses for their eyes have minds behind them. a force is not controlled A beast only appeased But mess with these things old And soon you last breath, will be breathed.

Forces.
Your honest it shines, Your truthfulness it glows Immensely bright, terrifyingly white Emitting the pains you've known. Such honest truth Is hard to find And when its found It brings feelings most unkind The mask it is proffered The acting accepted more. For cries of truth Make battles into war. Sad but true Fakery is required, Its not the real deal but is greatly desired. For misery is madness And madness is contagious Don't pass on your madness Save others, from your mindset, most dangerous.

Shield their eyes, from the painful truth.
Going outside just to wander Walking round the world about The wind is blowing In an apparent shout The trees they sway This way and that Moving with the wind Like some foreign dance The movements are magic And the noise is their song The trees are alive Of this I'm not wrong Even when the leaves are gone The trees still dance And sing their song A gentle hush is what they make A moving sound And breath it takes The branches are moving Every which way Their location is one But they enjoy the restraints For they know That where they are Is where they should be And their movement Is of the most beautiful simplicity.
