I wish the nostalgic music would play
Warming my moody soul
Let it pierce like silver pins
And make the hole
Through which my tears would flow
I wish the pain would act
Rather than sit quietly numb
I wish for more than a heartfelt sigh
A mad tearing of hair would do
Just let it not be mine

My name was innocent
In me was no dent
With Good, I went
My name was honest
Unassuming; modest
And the good, old Sunday best
My name was hallow
Unlike those whose minds were shallow
I did not in vanity wallow
My name was beautiful
Till society fetched me a bucket full
Of reasons i'm not made wonderful
Society is a seducing flame
A stunning dame
I lust without shame
She gave me a kiss
And I floated in bliss
While I sank to abyss
She spoke of guile
With words so vile
Heated with bile
From only a taste
To an addicted waste
In a shocking haste
She took my name
Set my innocence aflame
I'll never be the same

I wonder at day
To get up or lay
At night for this I pray
Sometimes I often say;
Is 'I'm young' an excuse to play?
Will I grow when it is may?
For then my choice will pay
Will it be sorrowful or gay?
Then shall be known the right way
And to failure shall I say nay

Almost lost was I
As the lights dulled
Almost lost in the sky
As sleep called
Lost in the world of dream
Of which I can't write
Lost in the dim and grim
Of the world of night

To the dark she went
And slouched and wept
She'd once been queen
Had had her win
Was once a golden sunset
A splattering rain
A pleasant love nest
And tears she drain
She'd been music played
Soft, smooth and sweet
And even if voices delayed
Heads had nodded to beat
Though at her death eve
She forsook binds and tie
Taking life she can't give
Causing for cry and sigh
As death she falls, cold
Her tale has been told
Another her place take
Her term is in the wake
Though it's now all a blur
She'd once been
Though she's lost her lure
She'd once sheen
As her lyrics fade
As her smile dies
My farewell I did bade
As a new sun rise

Not what I wanted
Not what I hoped for
But what I was granted
Like a body sore

Lazily drained the fire
From a heart not for hire
Life; a beautiful liar
Had put to her back a wire
When she'd only yearned for myrrh
