What's better than gold?
A heart of gold and any golden rule
Thus do not over the mined thing drool.
What's better than pearls?
Any shining pearls of wisdom,
grant the oyster respite's freedom!
What's better than diamonds?
Heavenly supernovas
and stars that dazzle like them.
So don't fret if you can't afford
the earthly underground gem.
What's better than rubies?
Crimson roses and rosy lips
I do and maybe you too already have them!
What's better than emeralds?
Feline eyes glowing in the dark.
Ah Lord! That fluorescent emerald spark!
What's better than silver?
The hope that every cloud has a silver lining
Even miners they don't enjoy mining.
What's better than amber?
Amber eyes shining like embers.
In God's fine variety of iris shades
Ah, and the onyx-eyed maidens and maids!
And whether it be zircon or amethyst,
Sapphire or lapis lazuli
Agate or tanzanite
what tis far better
than all these gems put together
is anyone known as
'a gem of a person'.
And it's up to you to transcend
flesh and blood
and be a guiding star
for the transient travellers
that we are.
Let the dust from which man was famously created,
be upgraded to stardust,
by becoming a shining star
in God's eyes.
And the kind one
is a gem of a person
in the view of the
one true Creator ....

Take time to gaze and look all around you
Let divine nature thus surround you
A poet has to have an eye for detail
Even lil amazing things can astound you.
The antics of a wee green grasshopper
The intricate web of the common spider
Divine art always the enviable topper
Upon the creator's scenery be the rider
Let not daily routines so bound you
That you neglect natural nature
Materialism will just ground you
And you will miss out on natural treasure
Take time to see how God carved the maple leaf
How he patterned and painted that turkey
Don't just gobble it and the fish or steak
Take hikes and picnic on the coral reef
Don't let life's grind
just pound you
The flora and fauna
will leave a spellbound you
Get out and about to explore
Soon that way you'll
have found a sound you.

Why, the greatest enemy of man is man
for man has subdued everything else
Fear not the tiger, fear the murderer's plan
Just hearken well to what history yells!
At times twas jingoism, at times a rancorous desire to do harm
Fear just man's malice and his ugly evil
If his dagger blow fails, he'll get you by black magic charm
His heart and mind alone well shelter the devil.
For how many fall prey to lions or snakes
one could even count them on fingers
Man invented a cure for smallpox but missiles too he makes
and he mercilessly kills without harbingers.
Man invented as many things for his destruction and harm
as he did for his benefit and good
He's inventor of bombs as well as tractors on the farm
And doesn't he detest acting as he should?
Man alone is behind the bloodiest of bloodshed
The angels too had foreseen his wars and battles
From the gory battlefield to the humble homestead
with the shrieks of ****** our earth forever rattles!
Close your doors and your home secure
not to deter beasts, but to lock out the robber, the thief
For no greater danger than man lurks there for sure
Fear not the fierce bull, that you can turn into beef!
Wild beasts might be known to gobble us up
but isn't man as well found to be a cannibal?
Gosh, humans too on human flesh do sup
Man tis far more fearsome than any poor animal.
The greatest enemy of man thus is man himself
How much blood has he ruthlessly spilt of his own kind
Look out for the bottle of poison on his shelf
Till the deed is done, no knowing what goes on in his mind.
The poor young lady refrains from venturing out at night
How now, what does she so fear?
She fears nothing but assault by man's might
so rarely is she stalked by a grizzly bear!
Fortunately for us, this ain't how it always ends
man can always be the best of friends
So we can still count more on buddies and cronies
instead of focusing on foes and fiends.
For man he can be a hero and saviour
if judicious he is about right and wrong behaviour.
Besides if any religiön's allowed to foretell
the end of ALL killers and murderers
is that inferno of divine wrath we all know as hell!

O' Salty tear, a mere clear drop you are
You've emerged for a million different reasons
many of which only the shedder knows
for you've emerged in all seasons.
The season of sadness or reason of joy
The tears of grief and the tears of joy
You and your unalloyed saline taste
Thou art' but an emotional waste.
O' Salty tear each time you drop into oblivion
why not vanish away with your shedder's grief?
I tell you O' tear if you take my opinion
oughtn't you grant your shedder full relief?
Ah, but thou seem a ceaseless ocean in reserve and store
No one can be sure, he'll cry no more
When you trickle down those sad upturned lips
we know destiny perhaps made those painful slips!
You are the raindrops of a grief-clouded heart
You do emerge when two lovers have to part
Help your shedder turn over a new leaf
so you're associated less with grief.
I've watched many a jilted lover
weep all alone by the seaside so sorrowfully
and watched tears glide down noses or pince-nez
as their salty tears merged with the salty sea.
O' Salty tear but it's time you learnt to wash away
all and any melancholy from your shedder's heart
and be such a buddy who never wishes to meet again
the tearful shedder from whom you depart

The year 2023 ended on saddest notes
of crying, dying babies in Palestine
and obstructed efforts
to throw them a lifeline
They ought to have long halted this ethnic cleansing
of the indigenous inhabitants
Stop the cruel bombardment
of their poor apartments
I'm not just griping for nothing,
the scenario is too bloodied
and gripping for sure,
Doctors go wiping off blood
as babies are rushed
dripping with gore
to hospitals tripping
with casualties galore
All humane hearts with any humanity
crushed and shaken to the core
Too appalling and harrowing
as brutal bullies
go carpet bombing them,
razing all to the floor
For all peaceful tender hearts
all this an eyesore.
Condemn them with solemn hearts
for this malicious apartheid,
for this atrocious genocide
It's been going on since ages
filling history's pages
It's no fair war that wages
Babies and women weild no military weapons
Stop them massacring the wearers of baby bibs in cribs
or moms and matrons in aprons .
Hey Mr. Biden, bid them lay arms down in armistice
A call for ceasefire is the needed advice
Our minds by now filled to the brim
with images too horrible and grim
It's not just a conflict when pain is inflicted
far more on innocent already afflicted !
Poor folks running helter skelter
for there really is no safe shelter.
Palestinians have become the bullies' bulls eye
who for their own land are made to die!
Israel acts so brutally, it wants to push and shove,
bomb civilians from above
and expects the Palestinians
to react with love and be the peaceful dove??
Failure to protect Palestinian human rights and delaying ceasefire, a major fiasco
by the international organisation UNESCO
which claims to be a protector of human rights
Who but tyrants destroy humble homesteads with warheads?
Poor Palestinians stumble and tumble over their dead.
We mourn and cry the deaths of civilians and
soo many Muslims and non Muslims have expressed solidarity with the suppressed, oppressed and repressed Palestinians.
Hey, worldly super powers
End war and their diaspora
End the massacre
End the occupation
That's my heart bleeding
in poetic anaphora
Gaza's gazelles had been nice to the refugee crocodiles
and then those ingrates showed them only vile wiles,
God's eyes and the global gaze is on Gaza now,
in the smoky haze,
as tyrants set homes ablaze
and erase lives and ways.
Palestinians don't deserve extermination
but rather emancipation!
So respect their existence
or expect resistance!

( A poem I wrote many months ago when muslims were being killed in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, but it still applies in recent refreshed genocide of Palestinians)
Wars round the corner,
wars at every bend
Could it be that all this warring
would never ever end?
Mass massacre and genocide
is what we fear and apprehend
Selfish apartheid oppressing poor folks
On suppressing others they depend!
Why can't folks borrow love
and peace too learn to lend?
For peace-loving persons wars are hard to comprehend
But in which blessed century
will the world its ways amend?
Why not be all sincere
when peace they recommend?
Its hard to not avenge the dead
So to revenge and defend
some will feel the need to offend
Yet the oppressed dying more is the trend
Why can't we all as Adam's progeny
simply unite and blend?
The world's tearing apart, which saviour's gonna mend?
When the scissors of tyranny
all peace efforts ruthlessly rend!
When will all the saviours from heavenly heaven descend?
So we watch and hear all war cries
unto thin air ascend!
When peace be the only choice,
the only probable trend!
Ah, instead of fending off war drums
why peace plans off we fend?
Why peace is so complicated
with double standards at every bend?
Will all state treasuries on aggression alone
their budgets, finances spend?
Why can't every foe we know
turn into a caring friend?
So we're stalked by friendship
and ambushed by love godsend!
A world where warlords and war heroes become zeroes
who in the first place did offend.
With peace may no nation
merely play and pretend!
Hypocrisy is calling freedom fighters terrorists while their State bombing and shelling never end.

I really truly don't know
why
some things under the
sun and sky
attract and catch my
fancy
Quite queerly they
happen to be
hot melting smelting
solids
that melt into exquisite
liquids.
Take for instance heated
liquid gold
molten glass or molten
brass
and to watch magma
'neath the earth's fold
Ooh, I love just about any
melting mass.
With similar bizarre
ecstasy and fascination
I like to watch
onscreen molten lava
Gliding in serpentine
turns, oblivious of my
admiration
Ah, I just love all that
golden molten mass .
Liquidised metal, liquid fire
I just never ever tire
Sometimes I even have
such an eccentric craving
to watch just any solid
beauty melting smelting
that I satisfy this craving
by simply imagining
the honey to be some
liquid fire gold glowing
in a crystal clear jar and
liken it to
metallic gold syrup in
the furnace burning
As if it were stagnant
mini-lava
right before me churning !
As for other mesmeric
things
that I find real eye-
catching
are those which
everybody else finds
ravishing.
And they are in all shine,
in heavenly mould and cast,
magical celestial stardust
or glittery terrestrial gold
dust
or dazzling diamond dust,
in mankind's metallic
materialistic lust.!
Btw I am allergic to earthly
dust!:)

Curiosity perhaps killed many a cat
For a cat it is an inquisitive brat
It could rummage through anything even your ******* trash
Tabby may spring on dinner table and cutlery may crash
Famous might be a cat for those famed nine lives
but not much help is that if in every danger it dives!
Its feline curiosity to crash-land it in trouble
for it tends to explore every kind of rubble.
The catty **** likes a fight and a wild-goose-chase.
Forever looking forward to amuse and amaze?
In a cat basket he's likely to be struck with ennui
Perhaps his caretaker thought only of his fengshui?
His meowing and hissing resonates in the valley
as he tussles with many rival cats in the alley
Mr. Tom cat thinks most females are saucy
but with them he acts in a way quite bossy
Wild and rough, with macho feral pride
I watch you tease and taunt in your typical stride.
No way is he kitty soft paws
Mr. Tomcat sure has the sharpest claws.
Tomcat ate the fishy leftover pudding & fish pie
and kissed the feline females and made them cry.
But my fav is my own cutie darling so soft
even if she may raid the larder and loft that's aloft .
