So happy when I see your sad eyes Vacant lot So full of myself Unread books on dusty shelves Did you miss me? The art of compression Words sprinkled over crumpled paper Too tight to breathe life into the room A new obsession Held captive I'm too tired to run Will you? Wilted flowers On top of a detuned piano Look dear! See how the cherry blossoms grow! Broken petals Trampled underfoot Clouds are breaking You can almost see the sun Bounty is for the taking Hey babe. Looks like I've gotta run.

Broken petals
The quiet beauty of a lightning strike Three second warning Before the ground shakes It's when the monster wakes Don't stare into its eye It beholds a soul Too old To play in the green grass Or to swoon to the sounds of brass On a summer night after the rain Storms too big for teacups Clinched fists Strike like lightning Love can leave a stain Another day of thunder and pain You built a tree house on top of your forest Littered with splinters but still a home Had I'd known Storms make treetops sway I would have stayed away Waited for the sun the clear the way For my great escape I would ride the lightning Follow forgotten tracks to jump my train Take shelter from your tempered tempest Rolling thunder and driving pain I lie waiting for the calm before the storm I wonder if it will ever come

Thunder and pain
Pale skinny bones Blank white canvas Washed over with colors Standing alone in The Painted Desert Fingers pricked from a desert rose Bleeding heart stains my sleeves Erosion shows no mercy For exposed hearts Sleeping under open skies Feeling so alive Staring up at dying stars Hanging my dreams on crescent moons Petals slip out of open hands Blown over rolling dunes I found a better way to die This is a great way to die

A better way to die
Where have you gone? Our skies have gone silent And skies turned grey Oh dear songbird Please sing us a tune Fill up these empty rooms With the sweetest sounds Do you ever wonder How bizarre we are? We walk around with buds in our ears But flowers never blossom We can't hear the symphonies Of our surroundings It seems we enjoy our orchestrated chaos Or do you get a birdseye view Of us waging in our cages while you sing into the wind? Oh dear songbird Sing us a tune Before our garden goes to ruins Before we forget how to plant again Dear songbird We are actually much alike We both have learned how to fly But it's us that have perfected how to fall

Oh dear songbird
No need to throw us a line We've already submerged Cups half full of the abyss This ship tipped over before it could sail Put your ear against the ground my dear You just might hear Our muted fear Spring won't be silent much longer Shiny red low hanging fruit The sweet taste of lust Endless wanderlust down broken paths Leading to endless wraths Once bitten, twice shy There can be no shade around fallen trees Only shadows of what was meant to be My son, there will be no harvest The fruit was rotten From the top until the seed On the Eve of our final midnight Words pass from parent to child Seeds for new gardens Shadows from the permanent moonlight Crooked paths through naked trees Seeds that thirst My cup runs empty I swallowed it all When I drowned

Low hanging fruit
Too tired of hearing about the quickly passing seasons Too busy trying to put falling leaves back on my family tree Where did your little fingers go? They could barely hold on to my hand Now I'm barely able to hold onto you Someone threw too much grease on this time machine Hitting the brakes, but it's only me hitting the wall My little child, once upon I time I lived wild among the beasts Hunting on distant lands I've planted my roots, but soon enough it's your leaves that will blow freely into changing winds Wherever you land Learn that a clinched heart feels more pain Smell the flowers before the rain Tame your own beasts before they turn on you Lay on fallen leaves That fell from trees Much like the both of us
