Neil grew up in the southern states of the USA, moved west with his family while in high school, served as an LDS missionary in the north east, and seeks to continually have well-paying employment to support his growing family. He does not consider himself a writer and puts poetry together but once in a blue moon. He is very strongly opinionated and, though sometimes struggles to show it properly, has a deep love of the people he interacts with, especially his family. / "I decided some time ago that I would never again begin a statement, in word or in thought, with 'I hate people that...', but would instead start it with 'I hate when people...', ensuring that the negativity is directed toward something other than a fellow human being. To me, we're all part of the same team, the same family. I dream of one nation: Humanity."
My dear wife, I love you so.
I miss our cuddles & kisses & ...you know.
I miss your smile & your laugh.
My world without you's torn in half.
I knew it'd be tough to be away,
But missing you's rougher day by day.
I'll be strong though, 'cause it's what we need.
I'll walk through Hell, if it means you succeed.
May our days apart be busy and fast,
'Til again we embrace, reunited at last.

Do you ever cry for things long past?
For some things you miss,
And times that wouldn't last?
Do you ever wish for memories,
Those days of joy and bliss,
To return again with ease?
Do you ever weep for loved ones gone?
For words said in haste
That can't be withdrawn?
Do you ever hear their falling tears?
Flowing free and unrestrained,
Unfaded through all these years?
Do you ever seek forgiveness pure?
Having brought what they've faced
And been made to endure?
Do you ever wish to apologize?
Show love unfeigned?
And dry tear soaked eyes?
Do you feel that love inside you grow?
Wanting nothing more
Than to ensure they know?
And in joyous embrace felt through skin to the core,
See that love in THEIR face,
And NEW memories in store

The day labelled "Mother's" should be full of thanksgiving
For the women who've made our lives worth living
But no matter how beautiful the words that we say
The tongue of we humans stops short in this way:
It fails to send her son's loving embrace;
And the light and love that beams from his face.
No words can describe how sacred and mild
Is this beautiful bond between mother and child.
So how do we send sweet thoughts to Mom's heart
when distance and time keep us so far apart?
With the help of one being, to such heights we may climb,
For He made you and her with words perfect and sublime.
Send Him prayer as you write heartfelt words from afar
And He'll bless her to know just how close you two are.

It may be antique with worn shabby walls,
And rooms that feel like old barn stalls.
Yet 'tis a place where love can be found,
Where hugs and kisses and smiles abound.
The parents are teaching their children the way,
With lessons in serving each other each day.
The loving expressions so often heard,
Sing sweeter a song than the happiest bird.
And though not a villa of comfort in Rome,
This fortress of spirit is known as the 'Home'.

The love and faith and things of God
Though different folks may think it odd,
Protect the soul from devils that prey
Upon the weak ones that fall in their way
So don't be a fool, pick up those tools.
That faith and love will conquer these ghouls.
Might even save you a friend or two.
With God on your side,
who knows what you can do!

I’ll walk any mile,
Just to see you smile,
Thinking, all the while,
of you.
