Look! To the sea and the shattering waves, To the sand and the shivering wind, Watch the man march, To the beat of the tide. Look! At his half stare, At his folded hearing horn, At his swaying stomps, At his dripping skin, To his metal face, To his barbed shield. Look! One two three four, He lifts his cracked hand to his head, One two three four, He turns movelessly One two three four, He adjusts the empty air. Look? Where is he? If not here, Where is his shore? He falls to the floor, Fighting gone and done, What rumbled his shaky storm? What made his frightening form? He screams no more

Beyond I see but Close I Know
I emerge in the above or the below, The endless flow of nothing, I dance in the nothing, No eyes see my carelessly careful movements, My mind moves but like a paralysed dancer, The roar has shushed. Shadows linger in my mind, Implants of what was before, Yet my mind can't feel their bruises, What once was screaming has now been shushed. My fingers rattle and shake, I feel like nothing, Everything and nothing, I lie down but tiredness doesn't pull me down, I go up up up. The colours race before me, Swirling together into a dazzle of bending beauty, My arms reach forward but I don't touch, I watch and no time moves. Flickering my eyes searching but no danger exists, Shhhhhhh, It's not silent just quiet.

The Before or The After
The wind brushes the tree branches away from its face, Whistling softly as it works, The lake shakes, The leaves wake, From their slumber, The sky washes the ground. They lay, Hugging each other, Their uniforms scream into the silence, Their weapons lay defenceless, Natures debris rains softly, Onto their bodies.

After
They're screaming, But in silence, They hit me, But it's real, I'm falling apart. You're flying away, I don't know why, Maybe it doesn't matter. I'm losing a world, While swimming in a hundred worlds, These worlds are twisty, Fear that hugs, Joy that pushes. They're coming, You're running, I float.
