I have my mother’s violence inside me. Latched onto my veins and the underside of my bones like a second nervous system.

my mother’s daughter
A forever pooling of grey like the endless summer days I'm becoming adust with longing It's a bewildering heat haze Begging for the fingertips that find new paths That bring the rain and the thunderous ways With our contented sighs and our laughter highs We're now drowning together in one another's wanting gaze

a thirst for drowning.
The cool droplets trace the outlines of our figures in the distance There's this hidden ache in our chests as we make our way hastily through the rain A child of summer grown, we've forgotten the ways With the recollection of our trysts, a yearning grows The leaves pitter and patter While the grove grows ever heavier A soft nostalgic suffering It's one we've welcomed with opened arms
