A touch extended, throughout the ages
A soft reminder of all life stages
Mutant cells. I step away
Speed & power. Sudden stops. I step away
I see him chase, glimpse a face
Snarling back, max bad grace
Beer & fights. I step away
No health & safety here. I step away
From field to field, hill & dale.
A face in shops, offices, film & mail
Constant chase. I step away
What will it be. What brings the knell?
Cells divided? A broken heart?
No one knows which rings the bell
I glimpsed him close. I step away
Grimm. Thanatos. Azrael & Smert
I see you now. I step away
Not today Pal. I step away

City of Blue
City of Red
Toilet rolls, none to be found
The Sun at hand, ready to shred
City of Blue
City of Red
Corona came
And we brought out our dead
City of Blue
City of Red
Standing together
River of tears unshed
Together in Joy
Together in Grief
Klopp went and did it
City together bows to the Chief
City of culture, red & blue
City of friends & wits that's true
As Lockdown lifts, the City awakes
Stay safe & alert. For all our sake's...

Caldies Park. Wet & Grey
A just-want-it-over kind of day
Retirees with dogs blather & jabber
For little we know when a week turns sadder
Long time ago, little girls laughter
A life of plenty, much sought after
Sands of time count down the years
What once was joy, turns now to tears
Doggy Church Warden smiles & chats
Talking inanely of old womens' hats
When valued souls lie close by
And loved ones ask a lonely 'why'
Always be cheery, always be kind
You know not of that man's mind
Sat over there with coffee, words amassing
Mulling forlorn on friends a-passing.
Go swiftly out into the damp garden
Bump an elf & utter a 'Pardon!"
For we never know when this race is run
So strive only for justice, love & fun
And then, then you can say you're done.

Misty Morning, tunnel exit
Radio blaring. Yet more Brexit
Shipyards looming in the mist
Coffee. Top of this checklist
Distantly spied, Golden Arches glisten
Dumbly calling those who listen
Desperate homeless huddled outside
Callous addiction stealing his pride
Inside the feckless locals gather
Of nameless baby dads they caw & blather
No sign of insight, syns nor points
Weight of burgers on their joints
Red-eyed middle management jostle for WiFi
Ketchup spilt upon his tie
Spreadsheets, targets, bonuses forgotten
Awareness at last. This lunch is rotten
Light bursting inside his head
Realising how easily he's been led
A new day. A Golden New Dawn
A middle-management minion reborn
Now with joy. Now with flourish
New skills, his mind does nourish
Never Stop. Ignore what they say
And make this day. Make this day. Make this the day.
