The day sets sudden into summer shimmering
blind beasts patchy and lost
wander hopelessly along the tarmac trails of rubber foot caravans.
My mind races rancid thoughts forward
the winner takes all
that winter melancholy waving funeral flags at the finish line.
I'll bite down my teeth on the metal masculinity
and taste holiday nostalgia:
fireworks just past dusk,
that mixture of sulfur and black powder,
I can't keep on like this,
knees shaky from miles measured in ruby minutes.
I'll eat this city whole,
carbon emission load before my final marathon.
These teeth will shine down like symmetrical clouds in the sky
my mad mans brittle grin.
I used to wish:
for finer living in laps of luxury;
for nights wrapped in silk, sweat, shine, and infamy;
for heavens gates to open pearly white to golden streets for me.
Those days have lost their charm
beaten dreams that bellied up
and showed their uglier side.
Submitted and laid down
with their tails tucked between legs
and panting for mercy
my dreams play bottom bitch to realities sadistic hand.
As for now;
Hope I can hold the fire in my hand
to burn my life and this city to the ground
the pile of ashes will bare no souls return.
That silent hour,
I want to be alone and involved
in the fashion of dogs.
I'll wander off alone to the trees.
My brittle ribs showing
the silent cage of my black and tired heart.
The trees will whisper their names to me
as my spirit shakes their shining leaves in rising.
Goodbye you lion;
your angel face was as quiet as ever,
slack and pale under a harvest moon.
Hence was late upstart, yet states and stars with inspiring arts would find,
When much is tripping unto history's past, let i, gaze to charge and bound
Weld my fanciful world in heaven's muse: new tunes, does brim in pleasure
Sought Desires in Delphic tunes,an antique taste,my quest's could treasure
Phoebes,by whom admired me curious thoughts,so brawn,this Titan's name,
Outshines some vainly stars, when greatness thus partakes very lyrate fame,
Through olympus in majestic car, through souls these music's godly weed
Wrought refined present's towards mankind true poetry, our's dainty need
When of ken does work, here solely mate is brain with hasting beam forth,
Like a lately dawn 'scaped from its father's lap,to natures change's breath
Therewith some awful embraces feels; wakes this thoughts from dying lyre,
Nah,not death these things, yet generates fast and show its zeal, and dare.
Sieves the verses from darkness, life its golden lark do gladly announce
Lights with gift's from Dorian's specular driven tones, far these years.
My love is torn apart
Like the yarn that comes from your sweater
You know it’s there
But you never know when it will start to unravel
Unravel 'til there is nothing left but one long string,
What’s left is my love for you
From the tints of red and blue
I never saw anything quite as beautiful
The way the thread touches your soft skin beneath it
Like it wants nothing but to be worn,
And worn out
Your love runs deep
But it doesn’t tap into the water
That makes up 90% of my body
That comes out, is for you
That doesn’t come out
Is for you
I keep most things in
Like a safe that has been untouched for years
The dust on top aches to dance
And whirl about
But its duty is to hold our families most prized possessions
The type of holding that no lover knows
Birth certificates, life insurance, wills,
But does any of that matter aside to prove we are but a tiny piece in the puzzle of life
We see ants like we see people, just another thing that is in the way
We’d rather stomp on their souls than lead them to where light is
Because if someone is in our way
At the wrong time,
Better believe we will make it right
Have to be at this very important meeting, at this very important time, to get very important money, to buy very important things
What a shame
We all are
But you never shame me
Sitting at the top of the highest tree
Looking about with your telescope eyes
“We are all tiny fragments found within the oldest ship in the sea!”
Underwater broken up and scattered about
The captain tries to collect us, reconnect us
But would rather drink instead
He is our god, for all we know
His head is cloudy and his eyes are dull
He gathers our pieces to construct them as one
But is rocked by a wave and loses us forever
What were you to me
But a dream,
On the flower that I gave you
Two months after we met
That you kept on your dresser
As if it would make a difference if it was there or not
Your ocean like eyes showed me the answer when I showed up that day
I was lost in them but I heard you say
“I’m going away”
My heart sank like an anchor holding up time on a never ending clock
Ticking away until one day it stopped
.......Continued from Part 1
You exist eternally having no beginning or end
and in reality You're the most sought after friend.
In those who are pure at heart and mind You are so easily found,
and if anyone learns to speak Your language You always come around.
In times of need, especially when the world is in much turmoil,
You make Your appearance on earth undergoing incredible toil.
To one and all You give each a gentle push forward
doing Your ages old duty bringing all closer toward
that state of existence which is indescribable for any to express
making available Your glorious nature by compassion nevertheless.
You are the Avatar - God incarnate in human form,
the oldest and wisest being exceeding all rivals born.
In each new age that You are brought down
by those Five who have been chosen to crown
You as The Highest of the High and hand over the reins
of the entire creation for You to steer away from the pains
and hidden fears of seemingly premature self-destruction,
by Thine infinite divine attributes You overcome all obstruction.
You haven't come here to establish a new society, organization or religion bring
but to revitalise and bring together all that have come before like beads on a string.
Undergoing infinite suffering while in the body for humanity's sake You are
only asking for love in return from those who know You as MEHER BABA.
A great deal of Thy work was done with those Wayfarer souls,
Thine intimate lovers, scattered all around, playing their unique roles,
but appearing somewhat dazed and destitute like other madmen around,
You recognised they were intoxicated from Divine Love true and profound.
Nourishing and satisfying their inner yearnings You helped them all get along
and when realising Whom they were with, knew it was to You they did belong.
Also You washed, clothed and fed many of the other unfortunate ones
sharing with each an intimate moment of love for which You had come.
It was because of Thy greatness and glory that You achieved all this and more
showing all mankind, by love and compassion, the road that leads to Your door.
AVATAR MEHER BABA KI JAI
Your voices when meshed
Make melodies unheard
A simplistic beauty
Yet not of this world
The pluck of your strings
Caressing of keys
Creating a harmony
To bring Gods to their knees
Your lyrics speak of shadows
Ravenous for light
To succumb would be wrong
So you stay faithful to the right
But I can spy your glances
Your looks of longing love
As your souls share a song
You're fit like hand and glove
How tragic is this timing
So close and yet so far
Both parties could submit
But that would leave a scar
So you soldier on through life
What's meant to be cannot
Staying true to your commitments
And the time that love forgot
Is it something I have to buy?
Or do I have to wait in line for two hours,
And collect it like welfare?
Last time I checked,
We still had countries that sell daughters off
At the age of 14.
Was my innocence taken away from me?
A hundred years ago,
I would have been married with five kids by now,
And I would have had a husband who
Didn't really love me.
Do I have to earn my innocence?
I've been trading souls with people for the
Last three years.
Maybe by accident,
Did I take someone else's innocence?
Counting clock minutes eyes closed
Concentrate on the sheep that come and go
Rest pretends that sleep's a farce in a dream
Sleepless nights must suffice for saddened souls it seems
Voices of terror stalk in choral harmony most dire
The past is back with all lost missed dead funeral rejects
They are here to purify you from sin soul body by fire
If you have a moment take a number for torture you liar
The heart is our harshest critic exacting every pound of flesh
Every failure colossal atrophy catastrophe compared to success
If we could just love ourselves with half the mad passion fervor
Of the pedestal enthroned perfection we worship called her
Morning glory sighs
Afternoon of rainy skies
Calm as ocean tides...
Warm mandolin rain
Hazy days of cheap champagne
Stormy thoughts profane...
Golden prairie dreams
Rolling hills of passion green
Restless hearts sprout wings...
Autumn colors bleed
Green, then red, then yellow leaves
Bare becomes love's tree...
Moist as forest dew
Smiling eyes when I'm with you
Rough 'til rivers smooth...
Flowers fresh then go
Lovers strive to meet their souls
Picky swans grow old...
Such will of the wisp
Through the marsh our footsteps slip
Pricks, thorns, still we grip...
Whispering winds moan
Ghostly spirits search for home
At last, dust and bones...
Love is an anchor
To a sea that never rests
We drown more or less...
All intellect is dissected
Through the tunnel visioned perspectives
In a stream of feed
Producing the illusion of need
Projected from old men
Below the suicidal idols
Of the rivals
And glutton in the maniacal sins
By brain dead Americans
Painted in the amens of the dense
Commending the hymns
Of spent casings
Atop the blood of babies
It can be better
Than the clever endeavours
To sever the head of the predators
Washing our hands of their sedatives
And delivering the skulls to the slavers
But we are pay dirt
Shoveled into trucks to work
For a leafless tree
Ready and wanting to believe
That doesn't see our deeds
Are manufactured with the greed
Of sleeved wisemen
With five of a kind
In the fight for life
Putting our souls
Upon our rites
Despite the path of right
Infringing on the height
Of the tests message
We are the blessing
Of a warning
Within a forgotten story
Historically denoting its anointing
We are the disappointment
Of the warrior
Defeated in a court
Of corrupted consorts
Sorting out the blueprints
For a new fort
Distorting the borders
Of moral disorders
With orders to kill
The hoarders of will
We are the shrill screech
Of a dying world
And we are alive
Born to kill
Batteries of a shield
To sell heaven pills
I – Rain Over the Dying Empire
The Weather Forecast looks grim today
This mess won’t clear up any time soon
So button up your jackets and turn up your collars
And mark up your calendars for a time of grey skies
There’s a storm on the way
We’ll all be blown away
The reign will never end
Until we’re washed clean off the map
But don’t you worry darling viewers
Just find yourselves a shelter, you’ll be fine
Don’t go scrambling in the smog to find hope: it’s always there
It pains me to be the bringer of bad news
Oh! Dearest Public I always pride myself in saying Tomorrow will be a brighter day
But oh! My friends I also promised I would never lie to you
We have serious weather warnings on the way
They will ravage your livelihoods but don’t let them take your souls
We stand strong against the tide of the oncoming gale, the hail and the thunder
If they weather away each tiny bit of all you hold dear
Raise your fist to the angry sky and scream for what is right
I promise, one day, sunshine will be legal again
I’ve tried to make you laugh and I’ve tried to make you cry
But it’s difficult when describing the movements of cold air across the land
If you ignore the hot stuff blowing out of parliament these days
It’s possible to force a smile: a fraction of happiness for hollow promises
They know nothing of how to save the world, they just want to escape
They’re harvesting the strong so they can find another home
Sure, they bejewel their guillotine as it hangs above your throat
Because they think that you’re impressionable but my advice is let them think so
Because Nature wants out of the pact she made when God abandoned us here
And they just want revenge because she’s stronger than they’ll ever be
The Mother they used to love, that they cast down, has come to kiss them with her poison passion
She won’t ask for their forgiveness as she beats them down, begging for hers
I’ll leave you with my darkest secret since you probably won’t see me again
As they surround me I want to let you know it’s been incredible
Striding through the desert carrying you upon my shoulders
And so I’ll thank you and blow a goodnight kiss to you
If there’s anyone they’ve left alive
They have finally come for me
II – The Broken Figurehead Speaks
We interrupt this broadcast with a message from the high command
Good evening noble people, please ignore what you have just heard
And keep on working for our greater good
For as we all know, it is better than theirs
Regrettably, my tolerance is thin for behaviour like that of our darling Weather Reporter
And my mercy is negligible for those who stand against us…
III – Martyrdom for Sunshine
As I stand above the ocean, with the army at my back, looking out at this sunset
It feels like the first time I have seen such beauty
Though waves gallop into the cliff below there is a malleable peace
It penetrates to the deepest corner of my heart
As they load their guns and prepare to fire, I think of the others who they have killed
And how privileged I am to have the sun as the last thing I see
If God will have me I’ll happily join his angels now
I look down the crippled rock face to the water, miles below
What have I got to lose?
I’m going to learn to fly…
