Departurehomecoming

I. Departure

The last few moments,
               those final words;
               I held them in for you.
The time cannot be here yet,
               cannot have come...
Too soon,
               your lips press my temple,
                          your arms loosen
                                     and you're gone.

II. Homecoming

He returns home
after a long absence,
his face changed,
his hair longer.

My heart throbs
as a smile breaks
through his tired stubble.

"I've missed you."
