Stabbed in the back
I never bled
Heart ripped out
Not one cracked rib

Contorted and twisted trying to fit a mold
Almost did but didn't break
Absorbed every physical blow
Not a single bruise did it make

Took in each syllable of every verbal assault
Still I stand tall
Blamed for trust and abandonment red flags forged by others
Still couldn't crush my spirit at all

Opened up and bared it all just to have it used as ammunition
Refused to clam up completely
Kicked repeatedly when down
Tried to prove it's deserved, couldn't convince me

relationships
are water on the rock
erosion
rust on iron
corrosion
a match to nitroglycerin
explosions
it's love undeniable
minor indiscretions unbeknownst to you
picked apart
it's having someone reliable
to leave you stranded and alone in your moments dark
joy undescribable
when you're stabbed in the heart

Pain has always been there
To help remind us that we're alive.
But not all pain hurts the same.
A broken heart starts with a shock.
A bullet, a hole of fire.
A stab or slice, a sting.
A punch or kick, an ache.
But the worst pain isn't physical.
It's psychological.
Over time, you may forget the pain
Of being shot, stabbed, or punched.
But you'll never forget the words
That were said or the fear you felt.
The point is,
There are different types of pain.
But none of them hurt
or heal the same.

Someone was burned,
another was stabbed,
cut into pieces,
sold for a grand.

A monster under the bed,
is better than the monster in my head.

Read me a horror story,
and I will sleep well.

Turn on the news,
it will be scarier than the stories we can tell.
stories can be scary, but the reality is scarier.

you
stabbed
me
and then pretended
that it was
your heart
whose life had ended.
I'm not being literal here; no one stabbed anyone.
I'm talking in the form of love and words.

Dragging a bad situation
is like being stabbed in the middle of your collar bones
and slowly sliding it down your chest...

Someone once stabbed me in the back.
Then,
They asked me why I was bleeding.
