Hop up in your Jeep
All too familiar to me

"Wanna go in the backseat?
Jason Cirkovic Oct 2019
I wish this car can stop blowing cold air,
As we sit in the car
Frost punishes us for being up so late by nibbling our noses.
We sit adjacent, shivering, passing around a chocolate bar
I left in my car the other day.
We howl like wolves in the night
About that innocent thing we did
That led us running to this car on a cold winter night.
Simultaneously giggling
Finding my maps and papers to find that breath I was searching for,
I count the constellations from the irises in your eyes,
Realizing following your northern star
Will lead to the quiet sounds of falling in love.
Everywhere I go, I take a place with me,
even though our hearts belong to someone else,
I’ll never forget my 2001 Jeep Cherokee.
cigarettes make me feel better about abandoning you
I want a jeep because of when you would drive your mom's
and play rap songs
I want to be what I thought you were

Led into bed
Whats the beef?
I need to take a leak

I don't want
You
Cushioned sheets

Fantasy and anticipation
Leaving you
Would be sane

Romanced into
****** depravity
I am drowning

Toward sleep
Unsure about
Tommorrow

Never can be
Loved beside a pool
Champagne

French pastries
Morning breeze
Leaning toward my Jeep

Forcing my hand
For a getaway drive
In the mountainous haven

Mulch
Clay
Pine stained air

Here I am
There you stand
Am I glad?

pupunta,

tumakas at nagpaalam.

"Para, para sa inyo…
Ay hindi. Para sa’yo."
Cascades were dripping outside of this moving vehicle
White noise, patternless and arrhythmic
like magnified sounds of nails on a concrete wall,
made by souls desperate to cleave their way to dryness

This public utility vehicle holds spirits successful in finding this temporary heaven
Weathered, soaked and almost drowned
like panting dogs that managed to swim ashore from a shipwreck
caused by the iceberg that is the eye of the storm

This safe haven holds champions in a world of misshapen men

A woman clutches tightly on a bag of lime and her ever waning youth
Tired, but not eager to face Death
still closing her windows to his cat burglars
that come faster than the downpour of Typhon's tears

A homeless child comfortably sleeps on the far end of this ride
His innocence tested by fate
Too experienced for someone his age
instead of just playing in the streets he calls home

The jeepney driver has eyes on the road painted by Van Gogh
Unabashed, industrious and assiduous
determined to serve,
provide for a family whose stomachs hunger not but they hunger for his return

This other dimension nurtures alien thoughts and parallel thinking among beat down men

I do not know them but I can hear the cries of their emotions,
their longing to be felt and empathized with
Their voiceless cries are guns with a silenced nozzle
shooting at anyone ignorant who curiously stare at this minefield of a passenger jeep

How long can an affection last?
How long can one ride a jeep?
How many times can a person shift from a jeep to another?

Would you ride along with me?
Would you accompany me?
If you do, would you sit beside me?

I felt you beside me...a strand of hair, perhaps
I wonder if you felt my goosebumps;
I'm rubbing my arms for you not to feel it...

All of those were mere imagination,
It's a long shot
How can you be beside me if you were the one driving?
How could've I felt you, if I never rode shotgun

Lastly, how would you feel me if I'm still riding the previous jeep;
And I only saw you from afar and thought, perhaps we could be...something amazing, something beautiful, something that could last
