Suffocated by
Our pollution and greed
Our planet cries out
Please, people, take heed!
It's not too late!
There's still hope, indeed!
But please, act quickly
Here's what we need.

Engage (not judge) friends
With informative conversation

Secondly, go vote
For smart regulation

Next, please encourage
Responsible personal choice

And finally, take time
Stop and listen to earth's voice

I always feel two steps behind
No matter what the topic at hand
Even things I'm sure that I'm sure of
You can break down that certainty
Within seconds

Make me doubt the person
That I know myself to be
I dare you
Convince me that I am someone else
Because I'm stubborn until I'm afraid

Afraid to be laughed at
Afraid to be judged
Afraid to be made into a fool

So I take the initiative and laugh it off
Because declaring "I'm just an idiot",
"I don't know anything about anything"
Or simply keeping my mouth shut
Is far easier than hearing it elsewhere
Self-deprecating as **** but truee

Can you save that person?
Or will you save that person?
Can you not let them hurt again?
Or will you not let them hurt again?

Can you make that person happy, one more time?
Or will you make that person happy, like it's the last time?
Can you give that person the feeling that they've been longing for?
Or will you let that person feel that, no matter what comes?

Can you consider their worthless self?
Or will you decide to accept it?
Can you also be the person that decides?
Or will you be the person that initiates?

Making them feel and having them feel are both different
It isn't a matter of questions or actions
It's in the willingness, of the mind, of the heart
Now, can you do it? Or will you do it?

All we love is lost
in lusterless light--
like a lunar colorscale--
when care is forgot.

Take good care,
lest y' lose what y' love.

Though good employees may come to you with problems,
Great employees will bring some solutions with them.

Get good grades
Don't break the rules
Act like a proper lady
Don't let anyone see you cry

All things
I was told
would eventually
get me somewhere

I don't deny
that being safe
makes me
comfortable

but I wish
I could take
initiative
to be new

and do something
the world
has never seen

after all,
we are taught
so young to do
things now so we
don't feel the guilt
until later

Promising words not
Followed by action is like
*** without the attraction-
******* useless.

I realized what you meant
When you thought it's just laziness
When you expressed your concern
Over my health
Over my being over
The lack
Of me
Lately.
Over the lack of art
The lack of things I create with my
Mind and my hands
And my need
To express
My insides
The raw things
And thoughts
And feelings
I understand
Your concern and desperate way
Of speaking
Your exasperated wondering
If something in me is broken.
I'm happy
But where is my art
My paintings
Drawings
Writing
Music
And I think
Maybe because I am happy
I have lost the ability
To create
The things I made before
Were art born of pain
Born of raw unfiltered sorrow
Anger
And when I'm happy
Art doesn't flow as easily
And I've just accepted it
And I've just accepted being
In a rut.
And I understand your
Anger
Your sorrow
Your wondering and fear
That I'm just going to be
Lazy and Undriven.
Your fear that
I've stopped
Being
That I've stopped going
That I'm in love
And that I love you
But what am I doing
Sleeping and eating and nothing
So much
Nothing.
I am going to change that.
I am going to change me.
Because I love you.
And love is not enough.
You need to see that spark in me.
You need to see that go.
The big dreams.
That I've tucked away.
For comfort in sleep.
I need those nights where I toss
And turn
Until I get up and create
Magic
Drawing things
Boring things
Amazing things
Playing music from my heart
Singing from my soul
And making things around me beautiful
