Show me...
There are so many thing about you that people don't see
They try to show you their issues
Compared to what some people go through, their "issue" isn't really an issue at all

You want to scream, shout, rant, rave
Anything you can do to make them listen

They don't care
You try to be open
To be honest
...They Shrug it off

I guess what you have to say isn't that important to them

That's it
That's the breaking point
You let it all out

Show me!
Show me how this isn't so bad
Show me a time when you wanted to slit your wrists and make your suffering end

Show me!

Show me a time when you were stripped away from your family
Show me a time when you were placed in the foster system at, not even, two years old

Show me!

Show me a time when you felt unloved......unwanted
Show me a time when you found out two of your closest friends are suicidal
Show me the scars on your wrist from each time you tried something

You can't!
You don't have any

Show me a time when you were ripped apart
Unable to figure out who you really are
Show me a time when your parents tried to kick you out at 16
Show me a time when you felt so lost all you could see was the darkness

Show me!
**** it!
Show me already!

Show me a time when you woke up crying from a nightmare
Where one of the people you love the most was the person who caused your death

Show me a time when you would just sit in your room, alone, and cry until you felt sick
Show me a time when your closest friend stabbed you in the back...multiple times

Show me!
I'm begging you
Show me!

But you can't
You haven't experienced it

Show me you know what this type of pain feels like
Show me you know how it feels to cry yourself to sleep for weeks on end
Show me a time when you almost lost who you were
Show me a time when you almost gave up everything you believed in

You can't
You don't know what I'm talking about

Beneath the surface of my harsh exterior, there is a girl
And she is struggling

She is fighting a war the only way she knows how
She is breaking apart
Trying so hard to put herself back together...only to be broken again

See how she feels through her eyes
See things the way she does

For her
It's dark
Gray
Lonely
Desolate
Hopeless

That's how she feels
She struggles to find a silver lining

But if you don't look past the surface, you will never know

You will never know she's breaking
You will never know she's falling apart
You will never know the battles she fights daily

You won't know unless you look beneath the surface
When you finally do, let me know what you find
Most of what is talked about in the poem has happened in my lifetime, as well as to some of my friends.

An upcoming fashion show, and I don’t mean to be unkind here, is lacking in both. It’s just the way it is. These models are beautifully ordinary people, your neighbours, and their designs are self-crafted, each suiting the model’s personal interpretation of high fashion. It’s the social event of the season. Everyone in the “know” will be there.

Eight models and an emcee will take to the Capitol Theatre stage in Oxford Thursday at 7 p.m. for the third annual Foolish Fashion Show. Foolish is the operative word here. It’s an evening of fun, with each model parading across the stage in four outfits during the show. The fashions are indescribable literally. You have to see them to appreciate them.

The show is the annual fundraiser for the Oxford/Pugwash Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. To date the show has raised about $5,000 for the society’s Lodge That Gives in Halifax.

The show was the idea of the local unit’s Bev Clark.

“At the time there were no people to canvas door-to-door,” she said. “People were getting older or had less time. There were also other fundraising campaigns going on at the time.”

After seeing a foolish fashion show elsewhere, she decided a similar one would work for the local cancer unit. The first show was a sellout and the models of the evening agreed to take to the stage the next year.

Each designer/model is responsible for their haute couture. With the final result left to their wild, some might say perverse, imaginations the creations are a sight to behold.

Unit secretary and past president Bob Hunsley in his best 007 voice introduces himself as “Bob, SpongeBob.”

“Every good fashion show should include good costumes,” he begins. “Here, our unit president Edna McCormick is wearing her all-weather coat. In this coat she is well prepared for sunshine, rain, fog and snow and all the wind that blows (the coat is adorned with representations of each weather condition). Notice her “son” hat (which is a tribute to her son).”

Jane Smith is new to the Foolish Fashion Show runway.

“I came to the show last year and really enjoyed it. It looked like fun,” she said.

First time jitters?

“Doesn’t bother me a bit.”

This show is one in which you can’t do anything wrong. You show off your creation however you deem fit. It’s all fun.

Tom Kay, is making his modelling debut also. And what will Councillor Kay be strutting his stuff in? Not to give too much away but a muscle shirt like you’ve never seen and shorts will be worn.

Nine-year-old Emma McCormick is also a featured model.

It’s a show not to be missed.Read more here:www.marieaustralia.com/short-formal-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/formal-dresses-2015

"How queer that we're apart now,
at this final place
of white walls and deal desks
behind which you sit
and say to me, 'You can't see her, you're not family,'
family? I will show you family

I will show you two in love
In ways which you can never understand
In your petty leather chair
I will show you us.
In an embrace on a sofa
In the final moments of a movie
I will show you happy sighs
I will show you lullabies
What will you show me?
You will show me paperwork
You will show me laws
You will show me meaningless things
You won't show me love
I will show you knitted scarves
In secretly wrapped boxes
I will show you bedtime books read aloud
In our sweet voices.
I will show you happiness
In sharing a springtime sky
I will show you flowers on countertops
In glass vases and well-loved pots
I would show you all these things
If you'd only let me
Inside.

What will you show me? It seems clear..

You will show me the door.

But which door will it be?"

beauty marks and
kisses from angels
dots on white
checked every year

they made my mom sick
they burned them
cut them
froze them
they cover her more than me
like sprinkles
little moments in time
spread over her body
my fingers would trail them
feel the way they changed her skin
I loved her dark spots
until I realized they did not love her

I've grown
my skin has stretched mine
pulled my dark spots apart from where they started

If I could show you just how much I've changed
I would show you with my dark spots
I would show you how they started here
and moved
and changed
and grew
I would tell you how one dark spot has tracked my growth
it never expected to be pulled down with the years
but my growth prevailed and there it lies
miles away from it's home

I would show you the one that I touch when I am nervous
but not a bad nervous
the nervous that excites
that entices
that knows there is more to find
an adventure abroad
your love to steal
I touched this dark spot when I first saw you
I still run my finger over it
every time we meet

I would show you the scar
where one was cut out
where my kiss from an angel
was suspected to be a kiss from cruel fate
where my Mother's sickness
shined through me
where I felt mortality for the first time
I lost my first tooth that summer day
hours before they took my first dark spot
it was as if my body knew it was time to grow up
now that I had thought of death
there was no point for baby teeth
their assessments were wrong
my dark spot was an angel's kiss
but the risk was too great
a lighter body and an aged mind moved forward
my kiss gone
my blessings gone as well

I would show you the ones that come every year
that lightly dust my nose
I would run your finger over the skin
to show you that they are as fleeting as the season
that they pop up as fast as they leave
just like you did
you left with those dark spots

I would show you the ones that make me who I am
make me who we are
the triangle on my left arm
the triangle that all the women in my family share
the women that are the strongest I know
that have their own dark spots
their own stories
such a vast valley between our lives
joined by our love
by our past
by our dark spots
all in the same shape

I would show you my fourth dark spot
I would show you the thing that I am most proud and humiliated of
the fact that I am not wholly one of them
the fact that I am my own

I would ask you to flip me over
to run your hand across my back
to clutch my ribs
to touch the dark spots I cannot see
to give you the dark spots that are for you
I would show you the dark spots that are for you when I walk away
when I lay next to you
under you
in front of you

if I could show you how much I've changed
I would show you my dark spots
the ones that belong to you
the ones that belong to the angels
the ones that belong to the cruel fate
the ones that are from my mother
I would show you the ones that bind me to the women in my family
but most of all
I would show you the ones that are just mine
that only I know
I want you to know them too

I want you to know my dark spots

Show me who you are
Beneath the layers of lies,
Show me how you see
The world through your eyes.

Show me how you smile
When you’re hiding something,
Show me how you laugh,
Show me how you sing.

Show me how you feel
All the emotions around you,
Show me that you care
About yourself too.

Show me how you cry
So I can wipe your tears,
Show me your anger,
Show me your fears.

Show me who you are
Underneath that mask,
Show me the pain,
I know it’s a hard task.

Show me who you are
Let me see the real you,
Show me who you are
Let me love you too.

Your Eyes
Stella Apr 2018
Your eyes say it all,
Whether you are mad,
Happy,
Sad,
Angry,
Or any other emotion
People say that ones
Eyes are windows into their souls,
That statement couldn’t be more true for you
Even when you try to be stoic,
Your eyes betray you.
They show your true feelings
They show what you’re thinking
They show the disgust you have for me,
The anger when you spot me,
The joy when you beat me into submission
The triumphant gleam
When you finally break me
After each beating,
You give a laugh of satisfaction,
But what have I ever done to you?
I know my eyes show the confusion,
And the brokenness of my soul.
I know my eyes show the anger I feel
For being hurt needlessly
I know my eyes show the forgiveness
That you don’t deserve
I know my eyes show the cracks in my heart,
I know my eyes show the damage you have done
But the eyes don’t show the scars,
The scars on both our souls.
The eyes don’t show the irreparable damage
That has been done to both of us.
The eyes don’t show the full story.
Your eyes don't show how you were abused,
How you always felt powerless.
They don’t show that you beating me is your way of coping.
My eyes don’t show that I could easily overpower you,
They don’t show that I’m grateful for the attention
Because no one else notices me,
My eyes don’t show that I love you.
Eyes can show one's soul,
But no one knows the story behind them.
Thanks for reading. I work The this about he Indians belief that the eyes are windows to the soul. I hope you like it!!
Faye Aug 2019
Words are cheap.
Show me who you are;
Show me the monsters under your bed,
Show me the skeletons in your closet,
The demons that you hide, and
The storms that rage.
Show me a world of wonder
and of things that ache.
Show me what you see in the mirror in your wake,
The flowers that bloom beneath your feet
and the crown bestowed upon your head.

Let me see your heart,
Is it made of gold?
Have you held the world in your hands? Have you had it at your fingertips?
Have you lost it in the blink of an eye?
Eyes of ember, show me your soul.
Show me how gentle, how destructive you can be.

Show me what you fear
your imperfections
and the tears you've resisted to let fall
Show me the things you struggle with and the things to which you've given your all.

Show me what keeps you awake in the dead of night
What keeps you tossing and turning in your bed
The sins that have come back to haunt you
Your unanswered prayers
Your hopes and dreams
Your what-ifs and oh-wells

Show me what breaks you
What binds you
and maims you
Show me what fuels your rage
and what shakes you to the core

Show me what brings you joy
and what makes you smile
Show me what makes you stay
and keeps you warm inside

Show me the little boy inside struggling to get out at times
Show me the man you are now - flaws and whatever it takes to be human
No lies
No deception
No masks nor facades
Just you.

Show me what it is to be human, and I'll show you what it is to be divine.

All my love,
Faye
we are treating you like a little young dude, when i try and do a raiders show

i can’t help it, if i can’t be confident for the raiders

they never seem to win

i can’t help it, but i can try and do a show about the raiders

but it’ll never workout

i always sing at the end, as we draw the final curtain, and the raiders lost again

and that drives me mad, seeing they were so great back in the late 80s

you are nothing but a hound dog, barking all the time

you have never caught a rabbit and your ain’t no mate of mine

you see i can put my raiders show on, i can celebrate

but what if they lose, i know i shouldn’t worry

who is our best football team, who comes out and tries to win

and who will score a lot of tries, it must be canberra it must be canberra

it must be the might of the canberra team

you see i want to be there for the raiders, but they always seem to lose

and when they do win, it seems to be a fluke

and i play my show, and i am trying not to be a hooligan

because living in canberra, especially in rugby league you feel like a hooligan

when you support you team, it’s the same with the brumbies

but i shouldn’t be ashamed to do my show

but i don’t want to be a hooligan, but in hindsight i know i am trying to show my community spirit

and i want to have fun doing the raiders show, because, it puts me out there

i know, when i was at a arts centre opening, these people really liked what i do

they admire my integrity, i am trying to show my community spirit

and it makes me feel great, when people think i am cool enough

to put my raiders show on, whether they win or lose

pour some sugar on me, the raiders are against the sharks this weekend

rocket, oh yeah, get ready for a rocket baby

the bad and mean green machine, fiersome men from the ACT

don’t try and stop those men in green, or we’ll hit ya hit ya hit ya

and you’ll see green, i wanna do my raiders show, no matter

what my voices say, i know the raiders ****, but it’s great to try and get behind them

you see i am going to battle my voices when i put this show on

and i hope, i can do well, cause mate if i wanna be famous

i have to put my raiders show on against my voices

i will conquer them, i hate being treated like a hooligan or a little young dude

who is too shy to put shows on youtube, all because i felt good when

kids mucked with me, saying raiders **** don’t they, man

but it could’ve been a tease because the kid was really partying

and i feel like taking over the party scene, no the raiders aren’t that good, but i wanna be famous

and i am battling my voices whether you guys like it or not

so i will do brumbies night live friday night and the raiders show sunday night

watch it on AAA youtube TV, to see how i entertain

— The End —
