What Ifs
Sometimes
things just,
have to get out.
The fear or failure
or falling eternally
cannot stop us
from expressing our love,
or our hatred, or lust,
or passionate fire.
Because in the end,
it’s the “what ifs”
that we remember.
It’s the “could have beens”
and the
“once upon a nevers”
that keep us awake,
at night,
stirring in our sleep
wondering..
It’s the “if onlys”
that torment us
without mercy.
It is then, our job,
to banish those “what ifs”
and “could have beens”
and “never weres”
to the land of “once upon a nevers”
and just take a chance
because there is nothing more beautiful
than a risk well taken.
