my people were once led by a great and noble beast
i went to the river
Wentto
upstream
downstream
where where
were the paw prints were the golden feather
where the waters call home
mangrove king of the swamp told me
nobody not even the rain or violent dreams
would find
what was fed to the Ocean
First line was taken from Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom".
Some have asked what this is about, etc. This is the explanation, or rather, the closest I have to writing one.
"The pattern, while done at random, was an attempt to create some tension and confusion within the piece. Clearly, the narrator is looking for something of supreme importance to him/herself. The side by side parallels were an attempt to fit two ideas into the same area, much like when you have a thousand thoughts in one second.
What it's all about? Well. That's a great question. This was a very instinctive write. I'd muse then BAM on the paper, whatever felt right. But if I had to put a finger on meaning it'd have to be something like this: It's a tale of desperation, a tale of looking for a leader. Leaders make life much easier, allows us to relax just a little bit. The "overwhelmingness" of nature is just an outlet for the leader disappearing."
