The Strait of Juan de Fuca

The Strait of Juan de Fuca is
95 miles long and connects both
the Pacific Strait and the Georgia
Strait to the Pacific Ocean and
we are lying in bed together.
You are asleep and your hair is
spread out like a Makah whaling
expedition. You are so beautiful
I can’t stop to sleep. I lean over
and plant a kiss in the spring
colored garden of your sleeping
mouth. You don’t stir. I’ll stop
loving you when Juan de Fuca
is emptied of all its sea water.
