Little droplets of colour dripping,
Stepping from the pool,
the mist; it's fantastical.
It's so beautiful, tempting, taunting, endlessly
haunting in its perfection.
As you step close to the magical colour stream,
the wonder of it dragging you in,
it steps out of the mist, the concealing mist;
the protection fading away.
What you once thought was beautiful
is foolish now.
You don't even know what it has become,
what it will be but foolish.
There is nothing more to see you tell yourself
as the creature begins to change.
It steps forward and you glance around,
looking down, trying to escape.
It has become consuming, terrifying, endless fear.
You're paralyzed, you cannot do a single thing against it.
Nothing could make you move away now.
It is your greatest fear in a tangible being sucking everything away.
All your emotion, hate and love, and your bitterness, happiness, sadness, loneliness, fades away.
There is no hope for escape, there is no way to break away
from this creature's terrible gaze and it's all consuming frightening eyes.
Once you see it, it is poison, it is toxic.
It's tendrils seeping into the reaches of the
darkest corner of your mind.
The fear engulfs you as the spectre nears you now.
It does not matter if the threat is real or imaginary
for you've already buried yourself.
