One Word

by connie rae sebert

One simple word
brought 6 years back to me
thought I had released it all
thought I was free
Memories and feelings abound
but must remain silent
too much life passed by
as it probably was meant
I now wonder about old age
and how it'll be
will it be pine and fir
or a red rock sea?
I don't know why I wonder
I'm sre they'll be no change
so put te silent feelings
our of my hearts range
Be happy with all the memories
and that which I've seen
and be thankful in your soul
for all that it did mean
