metal petals

two dozen sunflowers wilted on my window sill
on your floor, lawyer retainers and empty containers of pills
inflamed desire's convection in the reflection of a whiskey spill,
you see us riding yellow bikes, satisfying appetites on beaches like an indie film

night sheds light on dichotomy of personality
cryptic metamorphosis, heartless creatures of our jealousy
your eyes they stare at me, in spite of me, as you kiss her
red high heel slits your throat, i smear the blood and lick my fingers

tables turn and you learn the bitterness of loneliness
you peer through windows, slipknot the rope as he slips off my dress
once he leaves, you slowly drape the braid around my neck
kiss my cheek, kick the chair, walk away and take a picture

it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes as the image flickers
it goes, it goes, it goes, see me with him, see you with her
it goes, it goes, it goes, until the hungers fed
daggers drawn from their sheathes, wooden boxes, velvet beds
