This is an enlightening moment
In a dark venue with ferocious colored lights
A girl with red hair squeezes next to you on a scrappy couch
She eats an orange pill named after the goddess of love, and you could practically see
Aphrodite dancing in her pupils
A man who calls himself the king of the streets pours lines of a crystalline substance on her stomach
Another man with nipple piercings rolls up a dollar bill and snorts the animal tranquilizer
A tempting, vulnerable platter
But, she doesn't mind
You witness this from your own wonderland kaleidoscope
And you don't know if you should move or
Observe so you just follow the white rabbit down the hole with them
And hope you get out before the Queen chops your head off.
