There is a coffee shop out of town,
On the great motorway running up and down,
Where I am pleased to be in their employee's grid
For not much more than a few quid.
Manager's got 'wee' in every sentence,
One of the reasons I seek her audience;
Some workmates are grumpy like my old self
Others jumpy and unearthly like an elf.
A lot of things happen but I won't agree
The first drink I made was a Grande cup of tea,
Everyone seems to do what they want,
Three instead of two minutes toasting croissant.
Customers are the usual type
Albeit iced with the motorway driving hype,
Unaware I deal with such on a daily basis
On top of the stress from writing a thesis.
One day one whose name must be Tito
Comes in and asks for Caramel Machiatto
With extra shot, extra vanilla and extra hot
But wouldn't pay for the extra shot.
My duty is to smile, even to this Prima donna
Sir, you may say and curse all you wanna
You will never realise I am silently in rage
At the end of day, I earn minimum wage.
