sadness isn't contagious
it's just heavy and personal
always personal:
eats you inside
and nobody knows

I pretend that airports
Are the means to an end,
A new start,
A purgatory for lost souls
Searching for something
Greater than themselves.
Time is not real.
But then I step off the plane
And watch lovers enter
Strong arms at the gate,
See their lips meet,
Watch limbs tangle,
And I drag my suitcase
Along the linoleum,
The broken wheel clicking
With every step.
I look for you,
In every airport
In every city
At every gate
And you’re never there.
My suitcase might as well
Be completely empty.
I have no home
Anywhere in this world
Without you.
Written shortly after arriving back in the US. Travel always makes me a bit more romantic, a bit more sentimental.

Photos, they say that a picture worths like a thousand words and that's
the reason we take photographs. They can capture a moment so much better than words.
If life was an album in time, how can we know that the best of them aren't captured yet.
If life is a test of multiple choice, in what quantity are the choices our own
and how much are they depended from other people choices?

My stomach
Butterflies
My face
Aflame
I can't help it
I don't want to
Blue grey eyes
Pierce
Red lips
Form
Slow, gentle smile
why
I don't want to
Love
Like
Or crush
I am scared
I want to run
But I *don't

My dear, I called you late in June
I wandered through the many moons
And I stood tall and I ran long
Before I questioned where you'd gone

You told me you would be back soon
That March you sang a different tune
A parting hands and parting lips
Left all our promises eclipsed

And so I let you go away
Doting on your return someday
And someday came and someday went
Until I found my patience spent

And so my dear, I call to you
A wanting on a waning moon
I poke upon the dying embers
And wonder where you'll be December

Colour Blind

I don't see the colour of your skin.

I see
the colour of your heart.

Is it dark and putrid or
is it the color of a soft and lilting tune?
Is it filled with warm tones,
or cold?
Hues of ice and snow,
or gold?

Do you give or take?
Do you love or hate?

I don't see race or faith,
I just see you-
your energy, your words, your actions.

I see you; I just simply
see you.
The news is getting to me. Let's all just love and be loved.
Every one of us deserves love and kindness. Every single one of us.

If I die

If I die
turned hard and cold
not given a chance to grow so old
Bury me not
six feet down the ground
For I won't hear
no susurrus
no sound

If I die
pale and lifeless,
no more failing
on life's test
Burn me not to ashes,
I'll leave no trace
Keep me in mind
not in a vase

If I die
lying in my coffin
a candle lit night
a lot of people staring,
cry for me
but not for long
Be firm as my body
Be that strong

If I die
and years have passed
forget me not
please not that fast.
Remember
my name
and who I've been
Let me die
but not forgotten.

To die

To die is an art
How your heart stops beating
How your organs stop working,
You disappear.

To die,
Many people wish they were dead,
Yet they do nothing about it.
I believe dying is a beautiful art.

I, I wish I were dead, yet I don't do a thing about it,
Just committing masochism,
What should I do?

Not all the times
the universe is unkind
It has been raining
nonstop
and this little house
is warm
enough for the two of us
I woke up to
the feel of your lips
on my shoulder
Angel face, you smell of
toothpaste and
cocoa
(What did I ever do
to be the one
you say I love you to?)
I regret
cursing the stars that
one
drunken
night
