Just wanted to post a quick hello and introduce myself as the writer behind the new Hello Poetry Blog - exciting times!
I'm Daniel and I’m going to be looking after some of the community side of Hello Poetry and seeing what we can do to make HP an even more useful tool for poets and poetry lovers.
The first thing I'm concentrating on is this blog. My goal is to make it a place that you regularly visit when you check in to HP, a dynamic stream of ideas that helps you improve your writing and appreciation of poetry.
So to do this, I'll start by posting my top writing games and exercises to get you inspired. Think ten minute warm ups to get your brain in gear - and check back soon for the first one this week!
Then, over the next month I’ll be organising spotlight interviews with poets from the HP community and from the offline world. This spotlight feature will aim to promote the most exciting and accomplished poets on the site as well as enticing some new users from elsewhere.
In the mid-term I’ll be looking to organise some real world HP gatherings (probably limited to the UK unfortunately!).
And finally, in the long-term, the dream is to publish an annual printed edition of poetry from the site.
My email address is email@example.com - please do get in touch with me, say hello and share your ideas for what you'd like to see on the blog and who you'd like to see in the interviews.
