That pillow next to ours,
we keep there
fluffed
clean
and ready for love...

that lonely pillow
waiting.

Really nice poem, Lily.
jp christiansenGreat Grandpaw Died at the Battle of Atlanta [Based on a true Story] by Louis Brown  Dec 10, 2010
Excellent portrait from a painful period in America,
Louis;

you clothed this reader in his uniform,
as he made his choice to fight his northern brother,
and he, in turn, had to fight his southern one.

Much sadness, there, poet.
jp christiansenFor we are the earth, stars and moon, we are the sun by Trevor Litchfield  Dec 10, 2010
the title is the poem;

"have you ever"...

an engaging piece of writing, Sean...

"seared" words

misjudged...

jp christiansenI'm aware I'm proper sick by Rachel Sterling  Dec 9, 2010
a thrilling piece, Rachel,
from a poetess with material
for a thousand poems of hurt and love...
jp christiansenCrush #2 by Marsha Singh  Dec 9, 2010
I'm ashamed to admit it,
but I'm dense on this piece,
and I want so terribly to understand
and appreciate these words.

jp christiansenThe Mistress and the Ghost by heidi  Dec 9, 2010
a piece of deep emotion and pain;

one hopes the last line
will be fulfilled in poetic form, only.

jp christiansenIf Poems Can Heal by Dorothy Anderson  Dec 8, 2010
just lovely, Dorothy
jp christiansenThe Dark Arts by Alan McClure  Dec 8, 2010
Very intriguing, Alan,
and well crafted and formed.

The last stanza puzzles
by its seeming intimations
of paradox 'tween beauty and darkness.
jp christiansenUnheard Voices by Chris G J Smith  Dec 8, 2010
you make me hear
these unheard voices;

you make light and dawn rise

for them...
jp christiansenCrush by Marsha Singh  Dec 7, 2010

No you don't.

thought, and their fine expression.

Really nice poetry.
jp christiansenThe End Begins by James Rainsford  Dec 5, 2010
I believe I hear that child.
jp christiansenThe Desert by another ex-member  Dec 4, 2010
My poet travels with you, poet...

through all your pains and sorrows,
through all your joys and smiles;

I'm with you, poet,
as you realize yourself.

What else can I say, poet?

I care very much for you, poet.
jp christiansenIn the Midst of a Journey by Neva Flores  Dec 4, 2010
I see the poem in the title,
and they are words I love.
jp christiansenIn God we Trust by Bathsheba  Dec 3, 2010
Into fantasies and dreams
much energy of mind will teem,
of powers good and evil …
and if not aware of what is what,
you’ll think there are gods and devils
pulling strings from realms un-seen.

The mind’s capacity for make-believe
the ‘man of cloth’ will use and you deceive,
and with ‘man in power’ himself in need
of others to manipulate, control, and bleed,
will ensure with promises and threats
of other kinds of re-births and of fiery deaths,
that you behave, think, and speak
in manners un-aware, to keep you weak.

Once this you see, the strings you cut,
symbolic’ly …and to your mind
and heart you turn …to find …
what it really means to be man kind.

You’ll have a chance to join the class
of people who together sing and dance
throughout this world, through all a season,
about a future free for heart and reason.
jp christiansenSong for an ex wife by James Rainsford  Dec 2, 2010
The poet has come to some self-realization;

the poem shows he has grown
into a human being greater
than before "she".

Loss is that.

jp christiansenThe City Lights by Galman Frederick Ferguson  Dec 2, 2010
...a poet sits
through the night...

...he longs...

...she becomes...

...a lovely poem...
jp christiansenAnother Casualty of the Cold Months by Marsha Singh  Dec 2, 2010
...and the bow’s arrow flew
so much farther than could be heard
the tap of the drum’s thump thump thump...

no warning sounded...as I fell...like some enemy...
jp christiansenDo You Remember That Night? by another ex-member  Nov 27, 2010
One welcomes jacko's continued writings
dealing with cleaning up the troubled past.

One reads with interest what may come next.
One is with him.

Hello.
jp christiansenWe honor the spirit of the season by misgiving by Francis Scudellari  Nov 22, 2010
Highly-evolved thumbs
tied a frilly bow in knots
too tightly on this poem;

my clumsy thumbs fumble
in attempt to unwrap the words,

yet I like the ribbon’s color,
and the shiny seasoned paper
I’ve torn for just a little peek.
jp christiansenEarth by Paddy Martin  Nov 21, 2010
yes,
Mother Earth weeps for her misbehaving children,
and the Cosmos weeps for Mother Earth.

Well captured, poet.
jp christiansenBetween Life and Death by David W Jones  Nov 21, 2010
glad you posted it;

shows your poet's ruminations
as you move through life,
through sun and rain,
darkness and light.

I enjoy these type of word-pictures
reflecting on one's place in space and time.
jp christiansenTwo pebbles and an urchin by Pebbles  Nov 20, 2010
A beautiful poem, Pebbles.

jp christiansenFormation Ov Procrastination by Meb  Nov 20, 2010
I seek to extract poetry sounding by cosmic note ~

I am a human being involved in Earth’s affairs,
but I sense rhythms, out there, calling my heart,

as it, too, reaches for those lovely, elusive notes.
jp christiansenInto the eyes of the beast by Rai  Nov 20, 2010

jp christiansenMuse,poet,self by Rai  Nov 20, 2010
a human triptych...

the middle 'panel' of which is the Self;

a portrait, or description,
by a woman in contact with herself.
jp christiansenLove so strange by Rai  Nov 20, 2010
"what did love do for you
but leave you in the shade
of your youth"

very nice, Raitch

and the ending of the piece
which I hope will come true
jp christiansenlet build dreams for tomorrow by dennis gunsteen  Nov 19, 2010
Dennis, dear poet,
you are very special,
with a poetic voice so caring
about the humanity in all of us;

your message is really one of freedom
for all to realize their hidden potentials,
and I want to thank you for what you write.

It's quite lovely, really.
jp christiansen"Take A Look At Me" - A metamorphosis by Valerie Garcia  Nov 19, 2010
A declaration of emancipation
in poetic form from ‘that girl’
to the one who used to “tie” her
by “abuse” and throat’s “noose”
now lifted for her to breathe free
and speak of who she used to be.

What could be more beautiful?
jp christiansenHands by Rosie  Nov 19, 2010
one doesn't necessarily approve of affairs,
but you're one cool metallic mistress
