Jane Austen was born on December 16th, 1775, village of Steventon, England. She lived her life in the orderly sector of Georgian England in a comfortable family home (best described as 'somewhere between nobility and professional status') - she was mostly educated within that setting; she learned how to play the piano, draw and write.
She began writting plays and poems at a young age, and by the age of fourteen wrote her first book, "Love and Friendship". Later she embarked on a busy social life and came to enjoy dances and balls. Although Jane attracted several suitors in her lifetime - she never married. Her first novel written in letter form and called Elinor and Marianne, was later published as "Sense and Sensibility".
In 1797 with the book titled "First Impressions" was her first unsuccessful submission to a publisher (revised later "Pride and Prejudice"). "Mansfield Park" was published in 1814, followed by "Emma" in 1816, and that same year, completed "Persuasion" and "Northanger Abbey" were published in 1818, after her death.
Austen contracted Addisons disease in 1817, and as her health began to decline she eventually was forced to abort her current work "Sanditon". She died in the arms of her sister, Cassandra in Winchester on July 1817, at the age of 41. She was buried in the Winchester Cathedral.
Her popularity as a writer was established as she became one of the most celebrated author internationally.
