A man that wished he were a bird, what a sight
But what are dreams for, if not to fly

If I could touch the sky
With the tips of my fingers

To make my hands in the shape of wings
Then I'd hold that day dear to me

I keep a close eye, on this heart of mine
I'm too afraid to know what I might do

Then one day, I strapped on my paper wings
Took a gulp of wine and leaped off my balcony

Oh consuming flame of love, that hates True Love
An empire of beautiful memories we create
Only to stipulate on falsely proclaimed common grounds
That we are but equal pieces on a checkered chess board
Yet viciously, we have both claimed crown to a crumbling kingdom

Enemies we are, for the colors white and black cannot love each other
Without the selfish rage of war, in an attempt to consume one another

Our paths divide, yet our hearts collide
Oblivious eyes and poisonous lies
Rose petal rain and tears of pain

Yet through it all, I've leaped to fall
Hope for me that I find my peace
Or a simple smile at the least

As I fly away to my simplistic fate
I leave you three words, and nothing more to say

I love you

Wings spread, as school bells ring
Creatures singing in my head

Children scream, of imaginary war
Dreams of the long lost before

Oh Mr. Changeling, how you like to sing
& I'm screaming
What a strange thing you are

As the angels burn on by, like comets in the sky
Where madmen worship dreams & the rabbits dance and sing
I think I've lost a piece of me
We'll drown out sounds of lies & stay hidden from the spies
A slithering serpentine with venomous reality
I'll fade away in me, to a star struck fantasy

As the children tumble down, to a hidden underground
We'll dilute the world of men & close our eyes again
& the embers never fade, in a land of heart & spade
We'll wash away the words

As the kings & queens wage war
The jesters dance & I adore
In a kingdom crumble, I've stepped and stumbled
& the inner city ghouls, my friends among the fools
Cling to the night
The bright spotlight, of the night

Tread lightly on my dreams, for they are the colors of my world
I open the gates to my fantasy for you
Cast hatred from your mind and find tranquility, as I have
Sit in silence and break through sorrow
For we are the remnants of an ever fading tomorrow

Make me an angel, shoot me a star
I'm nowhere near, nowhere far
I want to go home, I want to be me
Lost in the wild, I'm finally free

Those that have been cast out tend to clutter together
For the reason that is fear of being alone
So let us flutter together, as one into space
As butterflies that have realized, through broken glossy eyes
Falling in love is for birds without wings

For it fell into place & we have lost face
As our past lovers tread on our broken bones
And scream filled dreams turn to silent play scenes

We have become puppets on strings
For we are much like plastic play things
Played with for games of love and broken with hate
Slowly from perfect to toys of miscreate
We are past lovers
